Some people think I'm paranoid because I have so many guns. With all my guns, what do I have to be paranoid about?

You should get yourself one!

I'm quite happy with my 3 1911 types, and not real sure my small short fingered hand would fit on a double stack grip.

Well, I am with you on liking 1911s. But my Witness Match is right up there neck & neck. Probably more reliable in feeding almost anything. Definitely more tolerant of longer OAL 10mm loads.
Anyway, check one out at a LGS. I checked out several 9mm ones before buying my 10mm model. (same gun really) Grip feel is way slimmer than the Glocks. I think I have very average sized hands, but YMMV.

that's msrp, if you do a retailer search and look for it through your lgs they actually set the mark up, for example the shop i use has it for 618.00 but the one across town it is 30 bucks more. and thats buds cash price, the actual price is 601.52 plus insurance and transfer fee so in reality it would cost the normal joe around 630-650 bucks after tax it is close to the same price if not cheaper at the lgs, and doing a purchase rather than a transfer will usually get you a discount on any accessories and ammo you may need that a transfer won't get you then and down the road.

I would say that's a very good price, based on my experience.

Well there is the fact that if I got it at Buds, I would pay no state, city sales tax, which is 10% where I am. That means even with my 20 dollar Xfr fee to my guy still makes it cheaper.

RIA 10mm still in that ballpark price range, and I still prefer 1911 platform for my 10mm's, as you can see here.

Since I found capacity and flawless running pieces, I doubt a 1911 will ever show up in my collection again. It would have to be a double-stack and more than likely a .45ACP.

gandog56

Once again, when I can shoot like this with one, do I need capacity? I'm thinking if I need more than 9 shots, I should be running, not shooting!

I always feel like people that want large capacities need one of these.... ;)

You may not need it, but why not join year 2000 and beyond  ;D  I'm convinced the 1911 is an accurate pistol, that from my own personal experience and even reading yours, has problems with the large pills in 10mm.

I still think back about the lady who defended herself against multiple attackers and did need those extra rounds. Better to have them than to not and need them  ;D For these reasons it seems some of the members are seeking out the Match.

gandog56

I've had no problems with 10mm and my 1911's any more than any other semi auto pistol. I have a SIG, a FN, a old CZ, a Rommie TTC.

So I'm not just locked in on 1911's, I just prefer them.
