Ok I finally tested the lw barrel and I had a few ftf's, it seems to need the feed ramp polished. I had my shell casings eject nearly vertical so I broke a floodlight over my head at the range(never done that before) any ideas how to fix it?

Were the rounds underwood? They're the only rounds that ever gave my stormlake barrel a hard time. Like they're out of spec or something. I've still yet to try PBR.

I fired underwood and armscor, both were flawless in the stock barrel and both had ftf's in the lone wolf barrel.

I have 3 lone wolf barrels. G20-10mm ported, G20-9x25, G29-9x25
All of them required me to polish the feed ramps before running flawlessly.

KKM barrels come polished.  Both of mine lock up tight and run flawlessly in my G20SFs.
Late to 10mm but loving it!

In general each change I've made has either done nothing at all or made the gun perform a bit worse, but nothing serious. The usual recoil spring mods (aftermarket this, aftermarket that) have done nothing at all to change anything, near as I can tell. The tritium night sights are wonderful but now the gun shoots about 2" high at 7 yds. The G20 magazines with sleeves consistently cause jams--probably at least one per magazine. Let's see, what else--oh yeah I dropped in a Fulcrum trigger and added a high strength mainspring, and I find that more comfortable and it 'looks nicer'. I added a Lone Wolf barrel, and it works just fine (as did the stock barrel) except it generally protects the brass better than the stock unit, but is much fussier about what it chambers.

So, all in all, several hundred dollars in mods, none of which serve any purpose at all except to frustrate my efforts to more effective shooting. Well, I like the trigger a lot--I'd say that's a 100% improvement, and the recoil springs don't do anything at all and I expect them to last for the remainder of my life--if they don't then I'll put the stock recoil setup back in, and it WILL last the rest of my life.

Love the gun.

I guess I'm one of the luckier one with LW barrel - that and the G20 gen3- 15rd mags are the only mods to my G29sf gen3.

And have gone so fare as to see how long it can go with out cleaning, I put about 50 to 100rds through it every time I go to the range - about every other week. After about 400 to 500 rounds I finely got a FTF,took just a nudge to close the slide and fire the round.( I cleaned it there with a bore snake and finished the range time )
My 29sf gen3 eats anything I put in it thats commercial and my UW type reloads - What a hand full they are - not really fun to shoot with a 29 with out the 15rd mags.
Its my EDC and I love it.

Well here is my little "whipper snapper" G-29!

The Storm Lake 40S&W barrel doesn't like dirty burning ammo because the chamber is tight, the 10mm Storm Lake works great, both are accurate, the LWD 357Sig and 9x25Dillon conversions work well, but the shorter barrel, doesn't yield the velocity like longer 9x25 barrels.

Nice  Shadow - I was going to go the route you did with yours and decided to stay with just loading my 10mm's to suit what I needed - though I thought long and hard about the 9x25 and the 357 sig barrels - but decided to KISS instead with my dies and powder and the heads I use. I do load 40 shot and weak for my son and my daughter but that only adds two different heads that I have in inventory.

Doug I totally understand, the 40S&W and 357Sig was only because I had a good collection of brass in these calibers, so this gave me a platform to make good use of these especially with my cast bullets making it very economical.

Now about the 9x25Dillon, It had intrigued me when I first read about it, being a handloader I wanted to have something that was unique.  I got my first barrel for the 9x25Dillon conversion barrel from Mike McNett of Double Tap for my S&W1006, acquired a used set of Dillon dies shortly afterwards, and started learning how to load these even with powders others had not used.  When I got the G-29 I figured hey what the heck its just another barrel so I pick up a 9x25Dillon for it.

The funniest thing is, I actually bought a 9x25Dillon 6" barrel for the G-20SF, many months before I purchased one.  Therefore I had an excuse to buy the G-20.  ;D

I'm still hold on to hope for the conversion barrels I have being made for my S&W 10xx series...my buddy hasn't been able to get back on the CNC machines to finish the work.  Fingers Crossed!  ::)

Sweet collection of barrels Shadow!  gotta say I am jealous!

dumb question - but why buy a .40 conversion barrel with a 10mm gun?  The Glock extractors seem to hold the rounds against the breech face just fine.  Worst thing that could happen is a light primer strike....right?  I fired a box of .40 through my G20 without a hiccup.  I have heard of many others doing it as well with no issues.  Accuracy was just as good as 10mm as far as I could tell.  I know the whole head spacing on the case mouth argument, but if you are not shooting for "life and death" the 10mm chambers work just fine with .40 ammo as far as I can tell.  IMO if you are needing life and death reliability a conversion is never a good idea.  But they are fun to play around with   :D

any reason why I should not be shooting .40 through my G20 barrels?  Obviously I only do it once in a blue moon, but curious what everyones take is.....I guess at the end of the day we are all in this hobby for fun and buying "accessories" makes it fun  ;D

While the 40 can be shot in the 10mm barrel, its shorter case can leave your barrel with a dirty sooted area that will need to be cleaned well before trying to use the 10mm again.  By changing out the barrel I don't have to worry about that.

I shoot plenty cast bullets that I cast and load for cheaper shooting, brass for the 40 is plentiful so it saves the 10mm brass while still getting trigger time from the same platform.   It's all fun!
