PPU Ammo next

    This was the first ammo I purchased to shoot in my very first 10mm. Haven't shot any since but threw on a box with a PSA order. Just too cheap to not! I know it's weak but looks good so I will test it again.

Looking forward to seeing the results, even if they aren't worth writing home about.  The slightly upped velocity you get with your guns makes it all look a little better to those of us with G20s anyway.

Well Well Well!! David did the initial test on the PPU and this is my first time testing it for myself on the Chrony. I do remember way back when it shot good but was weak. They have either started loading it better or something. I did all three 10's just to verify:

(Match) 1111, 1075, 1100, 1087, 1014, 1018, 1069, 1051, 1075, 1091. Average = 1069.1 FPS/ 456.73 LBS.

(Razorback) 1131, 1063, 1092, 1127, 1126. Average = 1107.8 FPS/ 490.39 LBS.

(Hunter) 1169, 1161, 1151, 1161, 1159. Average = 1160.2 FPS/ 537.88 LBS.

It's very good brass and at this level as good as any other paper puncher. The $16.99/box deal at PSA with free shipping is hands down the best 10mm deal going. The paper will never know the difference for plinking.

I'm surprised it broke 1000.  I put some through my G29.  IIRC, it chronoed at 870 fps or so.

   I was kind of shocked too. Old data was high 800's but I use my .22 for setup and I get 1100 with value box or 1300 with Stingers and got that today. That's the control I use but a Glock of course will be less around 1000 FPS average if I had to guess.

     MrRedbull is getting 14 different ammos from me to test in his Glocks which will give us more data.

Is Armscor safe to use?For a few bucks more one gets 1200+.

Out of the two boxes I had of Armscor it gave one case split. I think it's fine.

Yeah, that's what I did with an order, although I've tried PPU before (very underpowered, brass was too soft; chamber a cartridge more than once and get significant set-back; fired cases with cracks....Very poor quality stuff, but it did go bang).

BUT....This last box.  It seemed to have significantly more power, and fired brass appeared to be in as pristine a condition as any I've seen.  I'm hoping that things have changed for the better with this brand, but I can't find any of it cheap enough in my locale to warrant further purchase.--Patrice

Glad someone else saw the same thing. Fine looking brass after firing it but on-line is about the only option.
