Well, it might be a solution to the feeding issue I discussed before.

Last time out I had feeding issues, and a handload of 180g Hornady Action Pistol driven by 9.5g of Power Pistol gave the pistol fits when loaded to 1.260".  I had some trouble with the other loadings as well running a stock (red follower) magazine.

I shortened the OAL to 1.250 with the rest of the loading remaining unchanged.   I removed the mag spring, red follower, and base on the other end of the spring, and I replaced the whole thing with the guts of a K10 magazine (Base, spring, & follower) and hit the range.  I ran 70 rounds and the compact ran without an issue, magazine after magazine.

I also had 150g Nosler Sporting Pistol driven by 10.5g of 800X (1.250"), and I had 1 FTF out of 30 rounds.  I had the 15 rounds of the prior 150g Nosler/10.7g Longshot load that ran with no issue.  I also had 15 135g Nosler rounds with 11.5g of Power Pistol, and I just threw them together and never measured OAL.  I had 2 FTF in the same magazine, so its not a 100% thing there.

I'm feeling comfortable this pistol will work out, but I need to figure out the best way (cheapest) to assemble a few magazines with the springs/followers from the K10, or else find an aftermarket solution to accomplish something similar.  Swapping the mag guts changes a 12 round magazine to an 11 round, but I usually fill to only ten, so no biggie.  I just hate to thing of buying double the number of magazines to make them work!

Anyway, MUCH better.

Not sure if you are familiar with the "All Tanfoglio And Witness Forum"
http://tz75man.forumco.com/default.asp
RodSlinger (one of the Witness Gurus over there) has a "FIX" for the older 10mm Mags with older Followers

Maybe that'll help
So tell me again how Trump was worse then the 8 years before .... AND what came after HIM !

Can you put the 14 rd k10's into the gun and get them to work as your reloads? If so you only need one flush fitting mag.

Grams follower try?

This was my first time out since I really had issues, and I wanted to know if it was a magazine issue, of gun issue.  I didn't spend a nickle yet, just played around with what I had to begin to sort it out.  Looking at the red follower, spring setup, I can see why there are issues.

I haven't tried Grams yet.

You could possibly get some of the black followers from EAA as a try as well. They have a different one that isn't a K10.

That compact Witness shoots 10mm so sweetly with a 22 lb spring.  The K10 magazine innards seemed to get me where I needed to be.  I had one issue in 115 rounds before I tried the 135 Nolsers.  I was having more fun than the frustration I was having last time.

I think this is going to work!

That must be one heck of a time pulling that slide with a 24lb spring. Be careful with nuke rounds and inspect always.

I made a boo-boo.   It is the heaviest Wolff send in their calibration kit, which is a 22# spring.  I corrected the prior post.

Racking the slide is stiff.  Its tougher than a Glock with a 24# spring.

I believe so.  I know it fits, but haven't tried running a mag full through the pistol yet.  Actually, thanks for bringing this up.  I think that one magazine I changed over would be all I needed.  I have a k10 I was having an issue with and I'll just use the inner parts to restore the one I disected.  I can always add more later if I decide!

Thanks again,

Greg

I ran it with the 18lb spring, but nothing more than a Nugent load. Like i said, in the past they ran with 10 round mags and im sure somehow there was a overall change. Curious if Wonder Finish Compacts in other calibers are functioning.
