I feel ya. Shoot about 150 9mm, 50 .357 mag, 50 10mm. Won't see me go to the range with 200 10mm.

IF Underwood does not sell 10mm direct anymore, I won't be buying any more.  Able Ammo is in TX so I would have to pay 8.5% in sales taxes on top of the now even higher Able price since they want their cut also plus shipping for me in north Texas.  too expensive.

Dave84

Same here. Large markup for no reason. Going to have to get into reloading.

mt10mm

I will just carry and shoot my 44 more

Going to shoot a box of Underwood 180 grain TMJ today.
Some people think I'm paranoid because I have so many guns. With all my guns, what do I have to be paranoid about?

I emailed Brooke from Underwood last week and she said that she will be stocking 180 TMJ withen the next couple weeks. On top of that she said that she was going to email me when they are in stock. Underwood ammo seems to have great customer service.

Everybody was raving about these things. I bought two boxes to see how they compared. Also bought two boxes of the new Ted Nugent stuff.

Oh. Okay, we wouldn't want you to like them too much  ;D

gandog56

If I don't like 'em, I still get the brass.

A friend of mine spoke to Kevin the other day. Kevin said he is having trouble locating components, and made no mention of selling only to distributers. If you remember a while back, Underwood advertised they were going to start marketing their ammo in stores in addition to selling directly on line. Perhaps this is the beginning of that, or the result.

This is good news.... I am having a hard time trying to find 200gr range ammo and always shoot Kevin's 200gr TMJ

From their website.

We are staying in constant contact with our suppliers, who are also experiencing high demand, to make sure that we will be able to continue to offer you the products we take such pride in. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we wait for supply shipments to come in and do our best to load the partial shipments we receive. im sure double tap went through the same phases
1. high quality, low priced
2. we are getting popular - shortage
3. demand is high lets raise our prices
4. lets have other people sale our product while we count the money
5.  how can we optimize profits?  - lets water them down- no one will ever know because of of our good rep
6.  cats out of the bag, but lets keep our prices high since they are warmer than others
7. oh no other people are making reliable quality ammo at a much cheaper price.  lets stay high but put a few more gains of powder back in them.
8.  maybe somebody will buy us out for a few million and we can retire.

well hell that sounds about right for every company (in a nut shell)

but hey if i didnt have a 10mm i would never order from them or anybody else.  just take my happy arse to any local store and get my ammo.

Well here is what is actually going on.  This "O" Communist Government Gone Wild for control and money, have jacked the fuel prices up.  This in turn has raised shipping prices on everything being shipped to and fro.  Also over regulations, increases raw materials prices of metals has risen to higher levels, besides the increased fuel cost to produce commodities, these cost get passed along to the powder makers, brass producers and companies like Underwood, McNett, Buffalo Bore, Remington, Federal, Winchester, CCI, etc.

Now throw in the higher panic buying demands, sucking up the products as fast as they can, at these higher cost, filling the government coffers with tax money every step of the way.  Higher cost = more taxes!

If the ammo makers cut back a few grains of powder they can load a few more rounds, yes most of those buying would never know...The pull-downs haven't shown Underwood reduced any of his loadings.  However he has changed components (driven by shortages of supplies) to continue supplying products to the consumers. 8)

If you want to place blame start at the top and follow the money and that leads you to Greedy Government that is strangling this nations economy and way of life! >:(  >:D  :'(
