 :P

crackin myself up.  I bought a glock 21 gen 4 today, well sort of, have a month and a half wait on it due to california bullshit.  Anyways, I'm back home and I've been looking at sig p226's and p227's all night.

I dont even have a sig, I guess that is as good excuse as any to get one??

Wish I had known you were in the market for a P227 - sold mine last week.  Dawson Precision front sight and a nice Sig Armorer trigger job.  If you go that route, I still have some nearly-new mags I can set you up with.

good luck!

What made you want to sell it? And dont feel bad in california I have to convert the gun to a single shot pistol to biy it and the dealers charge an arm and leg for that if I dont buy it straight from them

I did a five-month eval.  In the end, it came down to what I shoot best and feel most comfortable with, especially shooting from the draw and one-handed.  There were also some maintenance issues that I found a little bothersome.  Here is the detailed, three-part review.

thanks for the review.  All those reasons you listed are good reasons for me to stay with what I have.

I like my SIG P229. It shoots both .40 cal and 357 SIG with a mere barrel change what takes me less than 60 seconds. Uses same slide, springs, and magazines.

And accurate?
Some people think I'm paranoid because I have so many guns. With all my guns, what do I have to be paranoid about?

Not kidding. Its a damn insane asylum with the legislature in session year round.

SUMMARY:
The 'single shot exemption' or 'SSE' is an exception to California's Roster of Handguns. Guns in the SSE configuration may be sold in California, regardless of whether they are on the Roster. They must actually be safely functional, and must be capable of firing only one shot before reloading.

Once delivered to the buyer, the original parts may be re-installed and original functionality will be restored

California is one strange place...their poly-tics suck the life out of all the good things!  ???

WOW ... amazing!  I knew the place was nuts, but I didn't realize it was THAT bad.  Seems like even some liberal Democrat voters would get tired of that kind of nonsense.

Wow is right. Do you really have to wait 6 weeks after purchase to take possession on all gun purchases, or just certain types of guns? Sorry if this is a dumb question but living all my life in Texas I'm clueless to Cali gun laws.

mag360

The govt imposed wait is 10 days on any ourchase even if you have a conceal carry license like I do.

Additionally if it is a handgun there is a 30day wait to buy another handgun.

That restriction does not apply to used guns which are called private party transfers, just the 10 day on those.

My 6 week wait is due to the shop not having enough conversion barrels to fill demand.  So we have to wait.  They are currently trying to end the single shot gun exemption so guys are buying up "off roster" handguns real fast.

Ok mag, I see. Thanks for the brief edjumacation on Cali gun laws. Good luck with the G21 - hopefully it'll be worth the wait.
