I know it is not a 10mm Auto but is comes from the 10,
I received a new Kahr CT 40 test sample to try and I figured a .40 S&W ballistic test would be a good start.
I have never been a fan of the .40 but after what I learned from the test I would feel confident in carrying that caliber in defense.

Thoughts please,

Don't take this the wrong way (I don't say this to be rude), but - you just now figured out the .40 is a viable defensive cartridge? You might have some more catching up to do...

Thank you for posting. Remember that ATK (Speer & Federal) publish the terminal ballistic numbers for ALL their defense loads right here: http://le.atk.com/wound_ballistics/

I don't take that wrong at all. I promise. I have always been a 10mm Auto and .45 Auto sort of man and am learning a lot from my ballistic test. That is the reason I write, to further my and anyone who reads my articles knowledge.

Thanks for the test.  I like the results from the pdx1 and remmy golden saber Ill pass that on to my 40 cal friends.  Although this test does not sway me at all from carrying 11 147gr Federal HST in my glock 26 as my standard carry.  Funny as im writing this im actually wearing a glock 20 w/surefire x300 ultra OWB with critical duty 10mm and my glock 26.  Had to drive over to visit the parents today.  CA highway patrol would have been all sorts of confused if I got pulled over.  I really liked your 10mm test, look forward to more 10mm from you.  Like the nosler 200gr, critical duty, barnes 155, pro grade 140 Barnes, and the federal 180gr bonded JSP.

Thank you very much. My EDC is still a Glock 20 but I am not so opinionated against the 40 S&W. I have thought about finding a smaller pistol in 40 for edc in the summer but it is hard for me to transition away from the 10mm Auto.
