Best 10mm Brass

What do you think is the best 10mm brass and why. ?

I don't have the most knowledge compared to a lot of guys on here but in my experience Winchester seems to hold better for more hot rounds. By feel of loading them it seems the brass may be a touch thicker but that's subjective info.

Winchester has served me well over the years, however it tarnishes quickly.  Hornady and Federal brass have also provided great service.  Remington was a good brass but as time went on the nickel quality seemed to get thinner and it wears off easily.   Double Tap's brass was a fair quality and not sure if he has it produced by Star Line but it has given good service.

Star-Line is a great brass, I find it a little softer, this is because they make their brass for handloaders, where resizing can work harden the brass over several resizings.  Test have shown it to work well with heavy loadings.  As mentioned above Star line produces brass for many cartridge companies.  If you buy 100K pieces and pay for your headstamp logo and cartridge designator tooling they will make stuff for you. There is a brass called JAG, they were supplying ammo companies for awhile and test showed it to be very good brass with heavy loads.  They don't sell to the public but I wish they would to give others competition...

There is another company called Top Brass, they make a fair product also.

Bottom line is Star-line is the most available...

Most people think Starline I think. I just bought some but can't say personally since I haven't shot them yet

There is always "for the price" thing to add to the topic.  For the price its starline all the way.  Winchester may take a heavier load, I'm not a Remington fan, Federal is ok, but I'd to starline first, that's all I have knowledge of.

I do new Starline for the most part.  The last batch seems to have more variance in primer pocket tightness than I'm used to with them.

Oh yea, Winchester has the tightest primer pockets and can present issues using the CCI primers in them...

I'd have to cast my vote for Winchester 10mm Brass too
Seems to hold up to most anything and cleans up very well
Brass or Nickel

Shooting Star Brass is very good too, if you can find it

Bang for the buck...Starline.

Best overall....IMHO Winchester, but it isn't enough better to sway me from using Starline.

Great guys thanks. I was surprised know one like Hornady. I use a lot of Starline and got a few hundred before they got hard to get. Good to know about Winchester. Someone told me to stay away from Winchester because its made in China now and I never did try it.  Is Underwood-Starline brass ?

Hornady is good brass but like Winchester when you check the cost per piece of brass it gets expensive...yes everything is relative.

I have used the Winchester Primers, they are good to go, however I know that they are not as tight a fit as CCI in some brass.

When I was using new Winchester Brass the CCI primers were too tight (some would crush), so I had to use the Winchester primers which would fit better in their own brass.  Some brass I would see some leakage around the Winchester primers indicating a looser fit.

I have used just about all makes of primers, all of them go bang!

Winchester makes good primers and I personally like them.  For my suppliers they run about a penny apiece more than CCI and Federal, so I tend to use them less, but lately it seems availability of the Winchester is better, so that's what I'm getting.

They are hotter than CCI, so it might be wise to back down those upper end loads and work them back up.

Winchester Primers are as close to MilSpec as you can get without buying actual MilSpec Primer
They are the same Primers they use in all their Factory NATO Loads
