Well, at least you should be good now that the 7 round law has been shot down.

Heh heh, I'm good because I'm in Alabama that don't have such foolish laws.
Some people think I'm paranoid because I have so many guns. With all my guns, what do I have to be paranoid about?

Thankfully, the NY State magazine capacity ban has been voted down:

http://legalinsurrection.com/2013/12/federal-court-voids-7-round-mag-limit-of-nys-safe-act-allows-rest/

Hypothetically speaking, if this ban were still in effect; which handgun / caliber combination would you choose to carry in or through NY State?

For me, I think I would go with the Springfield XDs in .45 ACP. I could conceal this combination without a problem, and could use the 7 round magazine option for spare mags.

One of my Colt Combat Commanders in .45 ACP might be an option as well, though they would not be as easy to conceal as the XDs. Why not 10mm? I think a Springfield XDs in 10mm would be too much of a handful (not that they make one). A Commander in 10mm might be a nice option. It would be a shame though to limit one of these to 7 round capacity.

What do you think?

Being that I no longer live in NY (thank God) I wouldn't try and carry anything into or through it because NY does not have a Reciprocity Agreement with any other state. If I was still there I would get an 357 mag eight shot S&W 627.

Yep, outsiders with pistols not welcome in NY.  As I recall, even if one moved into the state, handguns would have to remain elsewhere until a possession permit is acquired.

So, there is an acceptable minimum number of rounds, and it's greater than seven. Wonder if NY legislators will see if "eight" sticks.   :))

New York isn't alone.  Huge cities makes the vast real estate outside the urban setting yield to liberal city politics.  I wonder how quickly the city forgets how things were with Rudy, and exchanges that for what they have now.  Really.

I'm a short 30 miles from Illinois, where the same thing applies Chi-congo dominates and the liberal politics are destroying the whole state.  They are digging a hole that will be very difficult for them to dig out of.  The Chicago politics now reside in the White house, and I can't say I'm surprised at the politics in the administration.  Chicago machine politics hit the national stage.

I used to live in California, so I understand. I have the same disdain for California's legislators and for any others who are blind to history, who don't understand why the Second Amendment was added to the Constitution.

Instead, I've always been amazed by and in awe of those willing take up arms to defend their family and their country.

The three branches of government should be at arms length and in contention. These legislators should be arrested for violating the law. But that doesn't happen.

Yeah, I lived in Illinois for about 16 years. Whatever Chicago wanted, Illinois got since all the political power came from there. I laughed years ago when somebody named Obama was running for senate. I said Obama sounds way too much like Osama, he'll never get elected.

Little did I know. Anyways I finally got fed up enough with Illinois stupid laws I pulled a Les Baer and just got my butt out of that state.
