I am looking into starting reloading, I am split on what style press single stage vs progressive I don't plan on pushing bounderies at this point with hot loads. What type of scale is needed? I bought the ABC's of reloading but I am more of a hands on learner. Any tips or advice is appreciated.

I started reloading about a year and a half ago. I started out on a Rcbs rockchucker supreme kit. It's a bit pricy, but a good start. It comes with most of what you need to reload. I really recommend buying a powered case prep center. It makes case prep 87% less tedious. (made up stat)  A decent digital caliper is important too. I added a turret press to my bench too. turret presses you set up multiple dies so you can switch between steps in the process instantly. I still use my single stage for bullet seating and crimp. I think the single is a little more solid and gives more consistent seating depth and overall length. Don't get hung up on one brand of equipment. Shop around.  Get all the basic stuff and follow the manual and you shouldn't have any problems.

The Rcbs Rockchucker supreme kit is the one I recommend, You can find it on sale and RCBS usually has a $50 rebate on $300 which helps out.  http://www.rcbs.com/pdf/RC342_2014CanadaRebateCoupon.pdf

Midway has the kits but not on sale at the moment http://www.midwayusa.com/product/646599/rcbs-rock-chucker-supreme-single-stage-press-master-kit  Sometimes under $300 then add the dies to make your purchase availible for the rebate...

I've been loading on an Original Lee Turret Press for almost 40 years

What I really like about the Turret Press is that the Dies can be set-up and left on their own Turret
I primarily run RCBS Die, and have one Caliber per (Lee) Die Box
Here are my Die Sets

Midway has a nice 4 hole set-up

Here's a 3 hole Press

So tell me again how Trump was worse then the 8 years before .... AND what came after HIM !

I wouldn't mess with a progressive press at first. After you learn what you're doing and if you plan on loading a high volume of ammo a progressive is good. Unless you're shooting hundreds of rounds a week a turret press is probably all the press you'll need.

I've loaded thousands on my Lee turret. You can get nicely priced starter kits too. A couple books you should read are the ABCs of Reloading and the Lee manual. From these you will get a basic understanding of each process as well as the Lee equipment.

Hornady lock n load progressive. Not much more $. I only use Lee single stage for pass thru die on .40 & 10mm.

This is much debated, so in the end it's a personal choice.

I do think that the accuracy of single stage is overblown unless you trickle every round like the Shadow does.
