We have slowly been climbing in the google rankings. When searching for "10mm firearms" we are now #3 in the results.  8)

Still no hits when searching for "10mm forum" though.

Good deal (thanks for the hosting the website, BTW). Not to sound like I run around wearing a tin foil hat but Google is reputed to be somewhat anti-gun. I've noticed on searches for random 'firearms' for sale their list will mostly list already sold items. Many several years old.......a quick search of the normal auction sites will show many for sale. Could just be me.......maybe I type funny? ;)

That's great!  It's a slow process, but the efforts pay off.  Of course, you could hurry up the process.  Just send google a bunch of cash, and your firstborn.  I've never done that, and the wait was worth it (although I've considered the firstborn part a few times).

Excellent news!  Thanks for keeping us filled in.
Gun Control?  Oh yes, the theory that becoming a victim is somehow morally superior to defending yourself & your family.  Makes perfect sense.

Google IS very anti-gun. They just started a policy of not listing firearms or related accessories on Google shopping. They also spy on their customers.

Much better to use "startpage.com" for all searches.

The fact of the matter is that google is the #1 search engine in the world. It is used by approximately 900 million users a month. The next closest is Bing with only 165 million users a month. That's a big drop from first to second place.

When people go looking for a 10mm website, chances are they are gonna use google to find us. I must prepare for this.

I found this site via Google while researching 10mm, additionally I was directed to this site by a fellow member of another form I frequent, thehighroad.org

'walrus108'  startpage.com is a proxy to Google and gives more privacy. Google won't get the usual information passed with Internet host connections. I use it to get the quality of Google searches. But, I also don't like supporting Google's business model that essentially requires undermining privacy.

Sites like http://duckduckgo.com/ might be a better choices for a Google boycott. But, as 'Grim Reaper' stated, a business must acknowledge Google's position. BTW, this site does show up in a general 10mm search on duckduckgo.com

Actually, one can set up their own search engine and web crawler if they are truly concerned about privacy and unbiased politics. I thought about it before Google proxies started showing up.

Just tried it myself.  Specifically typing in "10mm firearms" that is.  Now we are NUMBER 1 for all of the first handful or more of listings.

Typing in other stuff 10mm related generally didn't put us in the top 100 that I saw.  When I typed "10mm revolvers" I found us a little ways down the list (maybe 30th or something like that).

General FYI - I always view 100 listings per page.

We are now #1 in the search rankings on all major search engines (google, yahoo, bing, ask and aol) when searching for 10mm firearms.   8)

Now I just have to get these search engines noticing that we are a 10mm forum/message board so they will list us in those results as well.

Interesting. I wonder what's the best way I could help on my Facebook pages? I have about 6 gun/shooting pages there.
