I've just recently gotten into the 10mm game and need to start reloading for it.  I'll be using 180gr RS jacketed bullets but the only powders that I have currently are Win 748 and Alliant Red Dot.  Does anybody have any good recipes that I could utilize?  These would only be used at the range but I do want to use the power that a 10 can achieve.  Any help would be appreciated.

Well the Winchester 748 is not a 10mm powder period...Sorry  it is better suited for rifle applications like the 358 Winchester.

The Red Dot can be used, but great care needs to be taken as it is a fast burning powder, I load a lighter loading of 5.5 grains of Red Dot under the 180 grain bullets, but it's not a good choice, but does work as a target load.

There is some data for Red Dot under the 40S&W cartridge in the older data and you could work with some of that data.

The better powders for 10mm are LongShot, IMR800X(hand weighed), Blue Dot, Power Pistol, AA#9 and AA#7, the newest powder would be Hodgdon CFE Pistol.  RamShot Silhouette, Unique, Herco, 2400, HS6, and some VihtaVouri powders have some applications.

I will suggest you down load some data to study;  many links to data here; http://10mm-firearms.com/reloading-10mm-ammo/2014-reloading-guides-available-for-download/

Good luck!  Be safe! :D

I would say no go with both. Best chance would be really light loads with the red dot but not recommended. Maybe red dot with some 135 gr but not 180's.

Thanks for the input guys.  I wasn't sure that they would work as I haven't been able to find any published data for either of them in a 10mm cartridge.  I
