Went out again today and shot my g29 and g20. I am starting to like the g 29 more and more and have decided to hold onto it for now anyway.

I was shooting UW 220 for the 29 with the factory 10rd mags and was going great and had 0 issues with 30rds. Then I tried to use one of my 15rd g20 mags and had many FTF.

Went back to the 10 rd mags and shot 1 handed with loose grip thinking of possible limp wrist but had 0 malfunctions.  Think I have a bad 15 rd mag?

At the very least a mag that doesn't like that gun.  If it works fine in the G20, I would just mark it as G20 only and keep it in the range bag, but not the SD rotation.

I think you might be applying pressure to the 15 round mag when it extends out of the short grip of the
g29. This could be causing the malfunctions.

That is a very good point, I never thought of that.

Can't wait to get my G29.

Your 15 round mag might be a little shorter on the inside, and binding against the bullet noses. This happens with some of the Glock mags, but not others, and is dependent on meplat size and overall length of the loaded round. Usually this problem shows up with wide flat nose cast bullets; they hang up in the mag so the top rounds aren't under much spring pressure, causing malfunctions.

So I need to possibly adjust the feed lips?

Yondering

No, it's nothing to do with feed lips; we're talking about down inside the mag body. The front of it is rounded off; that radius seems to vary slightly, just enough that some mags bind up with WFN style bullets seated to full (1.250-1.260") OAL. There's nothing you can do about it, other than try another mag, seat deeper, or use bullets with a smaller meplat. This is only an issue with the big wide noses, pretty much any commercial jacketed bullets are fine.
