TMJ
FMJ
PLAIN BASE FLAT POINT
ETC ETC ETC....

for loading up large quantities of ammo I am looking for the best hard ball.  I don't want plated bullets as I want to try to duplicate what my regular load is but with hard ball.   That's 200gr nosler with 9.0 gr long shot.  This gives me about 1260 fps with my KKM drop in barrel.

So with that said why all these different assortments of hardball.   Is one really Better than another?  If so what is it and why?

I am planning on picking up about 100 to  start and if I get a good outcome as in that it resembles my 200gr noslers load I will pick up a couple K.

thanks

TMJ = Total Metal Jacket. It shouldn't have an exposed lead base like FMJ bullets will. I haven't noticed any difference in accuracy between TMJ and FMJ.

Will make a difference on smoking with some powders. Based on my experience with plated bullets vs lead ones.

This is what I was thinking as well...CCI was selling the 200 gr. FMJ as loaded ammo and Hornady has a 200 gr. FMJ as components, however the 180's are more common.

TMJ/FMJ are slightly shorter than the JHP of the same weight and with equal amount of powder you may see slight less velocity.

Good luck!  ;)
