I am going to be picking up some toys soon and wanted your opinions on these two compact 9's.     I have read reviews seenYou Tube videos and will be handling them in the near future.  Won't be able to shoot first but handling i will be able to do.

So if you have shot these or own them what are your thoughts?

How is. Accuracy, recoil control, and fit and finish?

I hear that sr9c has an excellent trigger but the quality of components is better on the m&p.

so if they both pass the handling test which one would you take home?

Thanks for the in put.

I own the SR40c and can say its excellent. The trigger is amazing. Only polymer that can beat it is the PPQ. Have over 250 rds through without issue. Quite ergonomic. Sights were a bit off but its not that hard to adjust them. I have not had the chance to fire the M&P compact yet. MY old work gun was the M&P 40 fullsize. Was fully reliable and ergonomic but the trigger was terrible I thought. All in all I did like it. I like them both. You would be very well suited with either.

Thanks Dave.   Appreciate the information and your thoughts.    The more I read about the SR9C the more interested I get.   Now just have to go to my LGS and handle them.    I am sure whatever I choose I will like a lot.  I have just been without a 9mm for too long.  Now I am going to get 2 9mm's :P

One will be an XDM 3.8c 9mm and the other is one of these 2 I posted above.

can wait. .

You're welcome. I'm sure you'll be quite happy whichever you choose.

I have owned the .40 version of each, only one i still have and would buy again is the sr40c. Great trigger and accurate. Mines not going anywhere. It is usually a good bit cheaper too. Plus ruger has probably the best customer service in the industry, mine got messed up (long story and totally my fault)  so i sent it back on a monday, i had it back that friday afternoon with half the parts in it replaced free of charge.

RW,  thanks for the input.    I, just today got to handle a few guns today and feel I am not going to get (right now) the SSR9C as I feel that is will make a fantastic CCW and in NJ I am screwed.  We are not allowed to protect ourselves here.  So i am going to hold off on this one till I am out of NJ to a more friendly  place.

XDM 3.8c 9mm
Glock 32 357 sig

these two I will be getting still looking for another one.  Maybe a G 29 to go with my G 20sf?   Not sure yet but it's fun looking.

oh I did handle a H&K p2000  v3 9mm and i should of never of held it.  VERY NICE!

Oh well more to look into.
