Very different in person than I thought it would look.

Rated 1275 FPS/ 650 LBS

I have tested the Atlanta Arms before (reloads). This should be the same performance, but is a new round in new Starline brass.

Interesting Federal bullet. Almost looks like the jacket is scalloped to get some expansion with penetration.

i hope that trophy bonded goes to like .58-.62 with 18"+ penetration.  I hate to say that I'm tired of seeing over expanded gold dots and XTP's in gel but I am getting tired of it.  Expansion is great but penetration is final.  There is a reason the classic 125gr 357 magnum semi JHP was considered a manstopper, high velocity and slight expansion led to great penetration.

IC,

When will you be testing the Federal load?

I would like to order a few boxes but would like some real world numbers first

We have been having some real crap weather here. Snow, snow, snow and now today rain! If it isn't too bad tomorrow evening I can sneak over real fast and run these two.

I threw on a bunch of other ammo to make it worth shipping  ;)

Federal finally has a real 10mm round. Now if they could only make other 10mm rounds and a FMJ loaded the same way.

Federal 180gr JSP
EAA Limited Pro 4.75" 1286, 1275, 1276. Average = 1279 FPS/ 654 LBS. This is about perfect with the box rating. I will get brass measurements here in a little bit.

Atlanta Arms 180gr FMJ
EAA Limited Pro 4.75" 1078, 1052, 1097. Average = 1075.66 FPS/ 463 LBS

That's great news!

It took a long time for one of the major ammo manufacturers to finally make a real 10mm round again. Hats off to Federal!

Let's hope there is more to come..

I have to wonder if they are using the "NEW BE-86" powder that they haven't put out to the public yet?  ???  Then...Maybe a textbook loading of Power Pistol or maybe Blue Dot.   ::)
The "10mm" I'm Packin', Has The Bullets Wackin', Smakin' & The Slide is Rackin' & Jackin'!
