I just bought two boxes of these and was wondering if anyone has used these on white tail deer? The last deer I shot with a Kimber 10MM, I was using Doubletaps 165 golden sabers. The deer went about 10yds and dropped. It had a golf ball size hole through both lungs and exit. I showed my son and he said what the hell did you shoot that deer with after he saw the hole. Do you all think the 180XTP's will do as good? Is Remington still making the GS's that you can buy for reloading?

HK10, I have used the XTP 200's but they were in my muzzle loader in a sabot, the bullet performed well.  The 180 will be a good choice but may not overly expand but penetrate deep like that of the 200's.  I would use the XTP180's without hesatation.

If you want more expansion the Gold Dot may provide the ticket, Barnes TAC-XP 155's will open as advertised with the good loads...

Just remember that the impact and shot placement are what is going to yield your success!

You can make fun of me or whatever but I used the 180 xtp out of a 40 S&W to take 2 elk and 2 deer on the coast of Oregon. Use it like a bow and these guns will work great. I have recently switched to hardcast just for cost.

Has anyone tried Buffalo Bore 180 gr HP@ 1350 fps or the 220 gr hardcast lead@1200 fps on dear?

I used the Hornady 180gr XTP at 1350 fps (10MM Magnum- revolver) on a spike , shot was 22 yards thru the heart/lungs. The deer went about 40 yards with a big blood trail. The bullet penetrated completely.
