   Jeff hasn't discovered Underwood yet

REDLINE

If he does discover Underwood 10mm hopefully he doesn't shoot it through the Delta Elite.

I see he's also quoting Double Tap box flap velocities as if they mean something. ::)

I really do feel the Delta Elites are fine looking handguns.  But without an aftermarket fully supported barrel they just wouldn't work for me.

They have their own ammo line. Delta-lite  :P

I sent him a complimentary email and invited him to check out Underwood ammo and to visit us here at the forum.  We will see if that works out.

Sir,
The velocities that I quoted were from velocity readings that I fired over my own chronograph. Double Tap uses longer than the five-inch barrels for their advertised velocities. I always list my own velocities. I did notice that the velocities for this Colt ran faster than those that I get from my S&W pistols, which have the same barrel lengths. I was well-satisfied with the velocities recorded by this new Colt with each of the Double Tap and Buffalo Bore loads tested. Not having any Underwood ammo here was just negligence on my part. i was not expecting this Delta Elite when it showed up, and only had DT, BB, and Cor-Bon ammo on hand.

Welcome Jeff!  Glad to have you.

Please understand that Redline's comments are something of an inside joke here about Double Tap's claims, not a dig at your video.  Intercooler most notably has taken pains to try to recreate Double Taps advertised gun and duplicate their published velocities with similar barrel lengths.  Members from here have reached out to DT regarding the fact that his ammo's velocities do not seem meet the advertised values.  The company has disregarded these communications.

I took no offense at all, just wanted to clarify that I never pay any attention to advertised velocities, and seldom even notice what is printed on the flap, except to determine bullet weight. I fired a variety of 10mm ammo in various barrel lengths from 3.79 to 6.375 inches in this review:

I also just placed an order with Underwood for some of their 9x25 Dillon ammo for an upcoming review.

Hi Jeff.

I'm curious about the date of manufacture of the Double Tap 10mm ammo used in your review. (I'm referring to the review http://www.gunblast.com/10mm.htm where chronograph results were listed.)

Looking to see if older (2006 and earlier) loads might be closer to the box label spec than newer ones.

Thanks for all your reviews.

Another 9x25Dillon shooter...WOW!  I'll be looking to see how you do with that one!  For now I run a Bar-Sto Match Grade 5" barrel in my S&W1006 and a LWD 3.78" from the G-29 for this cartridge.  Been having fun and still working on some other load development.  Bullet & powder selections for this one makes for some interesting loads!

Very glad to see you here!  Especially in the beginning of this more/less dedicated to 10mm forum that so far is growing by leaps and bounds.

Just a couple things on what you mentioned above;  Double Tap's box flap claims are based on a G20 4.6" barrel.  Their website supports the same.  And normally the Double Tap 135gr load is short by about 150fps from a Glock 20.  About Underwood 10mm ammo, they have specific loads downloaded for the Delta Elite.  They say not to fire any of their "regular" 10mm loads through a Delta Elite because of it's poor chamber support that could easily lead to a blow out.

Hope you drop by often as time allows.  Now if I could just get into a job like yours I'ld have it made! :D
