I got 1500 FPS out of my XD. Expanded like crazy but penetration wasn't real deep. Can't wait to see the 10's later this year.

That was a great report!  I have been looking to get some Speer 357Sig Gold Dots for my 9x25 project but they have been hard to get.

In his comments he is pretty excited. He has the Sig and .357 rounds. He said like I stated elsewhere G20 10mm testing later this year. Great for us... he is the best at doing it and will answer all the questions.

Intercooler

Almost .890" but 9" of penetration. I actually think that is great for HD!

Classic debate..Expansion or penetration....or 10mm and have both!

Good review.

Cool stuff, thanks. Any chance you could pull apart one round and weigh the powder charge, and post a picture of it (the powder)?

I've just started messing around with the 9mm again, and trying to figure out which powders have the most potential within sane pressure limits. I won't necessarily push as hard or fast as this load, but identifying the powder would be good info anyway.

Intercooler

I shot most of mine up  ;D I have a few left but someone already pulled one down and had the charge weight. I don't think they determined the powder.

The 147 if he did a +P+ should drive deeper.

Got a link? I saw an older thread on Glocktalk where someone pulled down the 124gr +P+ load, and measured 6.6 gr of what might be WSF powder (but could be something else). I'd sure like to know the same info for the 115gr load.

Intercooler

What is WSF?

In looking at it that is almost 3X the normal size right? My wet phone book tests kind of showed similar in that the faster bullet opened quicker. In 10mm the 135gr may be best for HD.

WSF is a medium burn rate pistol powder from Winchester.  It falls somewhere between Power Pistol and Blue Dot on the burn rate chart as I recall.  Seems like I read about someone loading some 10mm with it once, but it won't deliver top velocities in 10mm.

Very nice load.  No compromise there as far as I'm concerned other than it being a 9mm.  That guy does a great job with his videos.
Gun Control?  Oh yes, the theory that becoming a victim is somehow morally superior to defending yourself & your family.  Makes perfect sense.

Intercooler

I went back and looked at some of his expansion videos including .45ACP and saw nothing hitting .800" in expansion... well enough almost .900".

REDLINE

Yeah, that 9mm ammo is some wild stuff.  In a good way of course.

Awesome video!  That guy did a very professional job, I'm going to have to check out his other videos.  I'm very impressed with Mr. Underwood's offerings, I wish his company all the best!
