The price marked on the box of silver tips was $22.50 per box, and I haven't tried that particular ammo as of yet.

Actually the way it really went down was, I sold the G21, which was almost new, test fired only, was a backup to my then, carry 21, a year, or so ago. Decided after discovering the better half could not shoot the large gripped Glocks, there was no reason to have a backup, to a firearm, that has been relegated to night stand duty. Never gave a thought that she couldn't keep a grip with the 21. She is now carrying  a G23. So when I saw the NIB 3rd Gen G20, last night on Armslist, and if purchased soon, two boxes of silver tips would be thrown in, I pounced.  A young police officer, never even racked the slide, bought it two weeks ago, then, snapped an axle on his ATV. Leaving next week, on a vacation, riding the Appalachian mountains, needed cash fast to cover the repair. All as I can say is thank you very much for a backup to my most favorite firearm. Will be heading to the range tomorrow, and will send a minimum of 100 rounds through it. The chamber support in the ramp area is fabulous! Now if I can run my favorite 200 grain LTC hunting loads down it without leading, I have a second G20 that will be good to go! 8)

Congrats on a G20 and a great deal!  Nice when things work out that way once in a while.

Some days are better than others, and this was certainly a good one!

I love it when a plan comes together

Even if the plan was in the making for only days. Sold the G21, didn't
need two sitting in the safe, and, only one going to get shot, with regularity. For the most part, was contemplating getting a 9MM, only having one, kind of, by converting the G23 with a nine conversion barrel.  In all reality, the only 9, that I would want, is the CZ 75, and, it had to be the stainless model. Figuring that would set me back $650+tax, that thought left as quickly as it was made. Low and behold, what pops up on Armslist, the only one, of three firearms, I'd consider having two of, and to boot, $70 less than new, and $50 worth of ammo. :P

Now, I have to save up some cash, and get me a set of the Mepro adjustable night sights for it. My other G20 has the steal Glock sights, so those will stay on.  This one will have my 5.15 barrel dropped in for Deer Gun Season here in Ohio, so that's why I'm going to add the adjustables to this one.

Awesome deal!  You say the rookie cop bought the G20 two weeks ago?  Can you look inside the little envelope in the box with the spent cases from the factory test fire and report on the date listed?  I'm asking because you stated "the chamber support in the ramp area is fabulous".   My Gen 3 G20 circa early 2007 barrel support is OK, but I wouldn't call it fabulous.  Since you have an aftermarket barrel for hunting, are you saying the stock barrel in the new G20 has an equal amount of chamber support as your hunting barrel?

If so I might have to look into a new Gen 4 G20.   Pics would help if you have the time.

Thanks a bunch!

That's how I feel.  If I have no use for it, why would I own it.  NOW, if money were no object I might handle things a little differently, BUT it is. :(

The recently purchased G20 is marked 10/10. Guess someone had it awhile, dist., or retailer. My other one is marked 09/09, and I've had it for just over a year. Guess these don't sell as fast as we think.

My first 20 was a 1.5 gen and the support wasn't good.   My second, was a SF model, and, the support was terrible!!! So bad in fact, was the  bulged in the brass, I threw the brass away. Back then, I had a standard length, Federal barrel, and decided that was the only thing I'd use to shoot, unless of course,  I wasn't using my 6" barrel.

Will try to get some pics taken, perhaps this weekend. Not promising anything, I am absolutely swamped at work. Also, if you will, keep in mind, it was a rather quick look, but, I've owned enough glocks, to know when I see bad support, and I'm willing to bet, this barrel does not bulge brass whatsoever.

Thanks for the info!  I have one of the old Federal conversion barrels to shoot 9mm through my G27, they were pretty good.  I wish I would have grabbed a few more before the company closed down.  I believe they were made in Korea.

Where to you find the markings of 10/10 and 09/09?

Thanks.  Well, I bought my G20 11/11 and it's marked 11/11 (I don't think you can get fresher than that  :o ).

And my G29 I bought 08/07 and it's marked 07/07.  That's pretty fresh for then too!

I think it might depend on the area a person lives and how much interest is there specifically.  Some probably sit around for a long time, while others get moved right along, depending on interest in the area.

4 or 5 years ago, when I bought my first G20, the 1.5 Gen, I had looked for months, trying to find one.  At every gun show I attended, and a few shops I frequent, to no avail. Joined the OGCA, and the first show I attended, an old boy from northern Ohio, had this one for sale. It was priced enormously high. I asked, I mean no disrespect, but, was there gold inlay in the side I couldn't see? I think he was asking $625, and really wanting one, we had to talk that price down some. He asked what I thought would be a fair price? So I said back, if it comes in the box with two mags, I'd go $550. He said, if he had the box, and two mags, he'd sell it to me for that amount. Unfortunately, one mag, and no box. Got it for $450! ;D
