I'm itching to give the new KS7 a look. Lighter and simpler than the KSG, for under $500. If it proves reliable it'll be a great home defense option.

I all depends on your intended use. My Mossberg 835 Turkey Magnum is primarily set up for coyotes, when implementing Carlson's Coyote Choke, as well as hevi shot dead coyote ammo, 9 really large pellets, capable of 60-70 yard kill shots (according to Carlson), I would say 60 yards max in my experience, it is an extremely effective weapon, but is also very niche orientated
