New 10's for testing are about at the end but if you come across a 600+lb rated 10mm I would love to hear about it! Those are in my opinion the only ones really worthy of testing considering what we have available.

These are your Elite suppliers for real 10mm ammo:

800lb Club
- Underwood Ammo

700lb Club
- Underwood Ammo
- Buffalo Bore

600lb Club
- Underwood Ammo
- DoubleTap
- Buffalo Bore
- Right To Bear Ammo
- Trident Ammo
- Parabellum Research Ammo
- Reed's Ammo
- MAC Ammo
- Grizzly Cartridge Company
- HPR Ammo
- Thunderbird Cartridge Company
- Precision Cartridge Company
- Atomic Ammunition
- Ted Nugent (Pearce Ammo)
- Cor-Bon

If Elite Ammo starts 10mm again they will be added.

No problem and thanks!

I may do your Atomic's on down the road and some more PBR when they get them in stock. Also the Trident 155's if they ever have stock.

I really want to sort through the .44 Mag's the rest of the year since they have some weak and strong ones too. Also trying to find who in the ammo field can really propel a 158gr bullet out of a 4" GP100 >1300 FPS. So far not many!

The_Shadow

Yes the commercial 357 loads are not what they use to be...I hand load for both 357 and 44, I have some 44's I need to get readings on.

Thanks for sharing and putting all that information together, along with the chronoing you have done, making it easier for us all to know where to turn next that still buy factory ammo!
Gun Control?  Oh yes, the theory that becoming a victim is somehow morally superior to defending yourself & your family.  Makes perfect sense.

You know I thought Buffalo Bore had more than one load in the 700's but no. Kevin has the field smoked and is a great guy on top of it all! 8)

Not to mention, with Buffalo Bore, dropping another 40-50 fps from the box flap claims when using a G20, being that the box flap claims are based on a 5" Nowlan barrel.

Is the Underwood "safe" in a Glock 29 with the stock barrel?

That all depends I think. If you have one of the old unsupported barrels it's probably a risk. Best way to tell is post up a picture of what you have for support.

sqlbullet

I don't know that I would shoot Underwood in a Gen 2/2.5 Glock.  I think they had upped the the support by Gen 3.  The Glock hard core guys will fill me in I am sure if I am wrong.

Like Intercooler says, if you are concerned, post some pics of your barrel with a round in the chamber and we will all comment on what we think of support.

Or section a round with an angle grinder by removing a section near the head and see how it looks in the gun.

According to Underwood it is perfectly acceptable.  I've got some laying around here but haven't run it through the G29 yet.  I think one of these weeks I'll pack up the G29 with some Underwood ammo and the chronograph and see how it does.  My G29 is a Gen3.

Thanks guys my 29 is a late gen 3 and it has the factory metal guide rod so sounds like I'm ok.  What spring weight should I be running for the hotter stuff?? Right now it has the stock factory spring. I run the Prvi wimp rounds on the range to get some cheap trigger time and most times carry with Hornaday 180 Hp's. I don't want to go so heavy I have issues with the lower powered rounds ejecting.

Yep I checked out the site and saw that. What shocked me is that they don't recommended using their hotter stuff in the Colt Delta Elite?? After seeing that I guess that I can now scratch the Colt off my want list!

The Delta barrel is horrible!

Get a DW it's a better 1911.

sqlbullet

The Delta Elite is a great base gun.  If you have specific customizations you want, eg.  I want a Schuemann barrel with an Ed Brown beavertail and thumb safety, and a Guncraft trigger...Well you get the idea.  In this case a Delta Elite is a great choice becuase the frame and slide will definitly be to 1911 spec.  Most custom builders I know want a Springer or Colt base gun.  Many will accept Caspian frames too.  They do this because the know the dimensions will be to spec, which means just fitting parts.

If you don't have specific requirements, then a Dan Wesson of Kimber is a better gun since they have a ramped barrel already and good upgrades to many other parts.
