Just got my new 6" 10mm-40S&W KKM conversion barrel for my Glock 20 and wanted to show it off.  It feels like it locks up tight. It chambers rounds up to 1.228" (shown round is a smidge shorter) which is about .025" shorter than  the 10mm I usually load.  It looks like I'm going to have fun with this one.

Please excuse my crap desk, it was free :D.

Desk looks like mine.

How is accuracy with that load, and neck tension.  I would be worried about bullets not entering the bore true, and about them jumping crimp and dragging in the magazine.

I haven't loaded any yet, the rounds in the pictures are just dummies for now.  The bullets are 180gr, and are being held by .200" (+/- a few thou) of the case, and are crimped just as much as my normal .40 and 10mm loads.  I don't think I will have too much issue with neck tension, but I'll have to wait and see after I load a few.

We know exactly where one cow with Mad-cow-disease is located among the millions and millions of cows in America, but we haven't got a clue as to where thousands of illegal immigrants and terrorists are located.

Maybe we should put the Department of Agriculture in charge of immigration.

Yes, very interested in a range report

Small update: it's been 105 degrees plus here for the last week, but I'm going to try to get to the range this weekend.

Neck tension on these is looking good. The particular dummy rounds I loaded have been loaded 4 times, and I can't get the bullet to set back in the case by chambering, even with a 24lb recoil spring. So that's good news.

I'll be loading these to hot 40 specs at first, and building up.

Anxious to hear how it goes.

I have to admit I am still scratching my head about the point of this project.  The only benefit I see is the use of 40S&W brass which is effectively free.

That's essentially why I'm doing it.  I'm hoping to be able to load medium 10mm ammo using free-cheap 40 brass.  That, and I can go shoot any time. Even if I don't have any 10mm on hand, I can stop by any ammo store and get 40.

I figure I can save enough money using 40 brass that the barrel will pay for itself in under a thousand rounds. So that's a plus too.

I'm going to try to get to three range this weekend.

Can't wait to hear about it.  Will you be doing any chronoing?  Curious to see velocity results if possible.
Gun Control?  Oh yes, the theory that becoming a victim is somehow morally superior to defending yourself & your family.  Makes perfect sense.
