I had wrote Alliant several times, but today finally got a response about their New BE-86 powder....

Inquiry for BE-86 Powder...

To whom it may concern;

Please, I have written several times looking for more info on the newer BE-86 powder as shown on the website.  Has this powder been produced and/or sent out to the retailers yet? 
Everywhere I have looked I have yet to see it for purchase.

I am interested in obtaining some of this BE-86 powder to develop loads for several cartridges, 9mm, 40S&W, 357Sig, 10mm and 9x25Dillon.  Some other cartridges as well.
I am no stranger to your products, as I have used many pounds of several of the Alliant/Hercules powders, Blue Dot, Power Pistol, Red Dot, Bullseye, Unique, Herco, and 2400 over the past 35+ years.

I am seeking out this new BE-86 in hopes of finding some great performance and cleaner burn properties with lower flash signatures that the info states for this powder.

Is this powder available directly from the company?  Heck send me a (TEST SAMPLE).  I am ready to get started with testing and learning to see just what it brings to the performance spectrum.  I'll even provide you with a report on all the cartridges I test it with.  If it performs like I think it will, I'm sure my info will persuade others in my circle of handloaders to also want to use this BE-86 product.  Hook me up!  I'm biting at the bit here!

If  Alliant had any data to view it would probably be posted already, but that hasn't been shown either?  I have been hanging and waiting.  If I have to wait much longer I may have to move on to another type/brand of power.  I was reading where Hodgdon just came out with a CFE Pistol version and they already have it and the data available.

We are aware of the current supply situation across the country, and appreciate all the efforts of getting products to the market place.

We have not yet started shipping this new powder because we are currently so far behind.  At this point, I am not sure when we will start shipping BE 86 but the data will be added closer to the release date.  Thanks for your note.

Interesting article in American Rifleman this month about the shortages.  The author concluded after studying data from a wide variety of sources that we have just passed a critical point in new gun owners of predominantly semi-automatic guns.  It is likely a new baseline for sales of ammunition and the low stock issue will continue until production capacity is increased.

At least there is stuff to buy from time to time, if not a glut of product.
