Anyone else think the ammo shortage MAY be easing?

I have grown to like Underwood a lot and they seem to have better stock levels recently than for some time.  Maybe it's just me?

certainly seems like most reloading components are back in stock.  Brass is still spotty, but that is technically a handloading component, not a reloading component. :D

They've been out-of-stock of 10mm JHP 155gr and 180gr for most of this year ... I just checked their webpage, and there still isn't any.

Does seem that it is getting better. More ammo on local shelves & prices have come down for some loads.

I called Georgia Arms yesterday & they are expecting to receive a shipment of 10mm bullets within a week or two & they will have their "canned heat" 10mm available shortly thereafter.

Hell it only took the russians, danish, and israelis running their factorys extra and ours at max for a full year and we are still not back to normal. I want 5.56 m193 for $300/1000 again.  The american gun owner is an incredible buying machine.

I hate to give away my Underwood secrets, but if you'll 'like' them on Facebook you'll get the latest in-stock updates on your feed. I've gotten plenty of 155 and 180 stuff from them this year by getting those updates. BUT, do not have a beer and think about it. Go right to their site and order 'em up.

22lr seems to still be hot.
which I never understood.  It's the very last ammo that gov't would ban.

The local Walmart seems to have more ammo in stock now, but the prices are not the old Walmart prices.  They are more in line with the current prices of most  Local Gun Shops.  I can actually find better deals on line.

At this moment, Underwood has 30 boxes of the 180gr XTP JHP in stock.  Also they have 44 boxes of the 155gr XTP JHP.

My gun doesn't feed the XTP bullets as well as the Noslers.  They haven't had any 180gr and 155gr JHP Nosler for most of this year.

Mike , call Underwood and request exactly what you want...if you want Nosler bullets of a specific weight, I would think Kevin would be willing to work with you and your order.  However you may have to wait till he gets the bullets in inventory.

That is one of the best things about Underwood being a smaller consumer based shop, he should or will take time to make what the customer wants.

Not to sound paranoid. But I am treating ammo issue like it will reappear again in terms of panic buying. Even if it's a box and I can spare, it's a buy. I do not shoot up the 10's like I use too. .40's more so and 22lr. I shoot enough of 10's to stay proficant, which is all that counts to me. To me ammo is like gold.

The local Wallyworlds have a good quantity of pistol ammo again. For a long time they only had shotgun and some high power rifle ammo available.

Sorry ... I forgot that the Underwood rounds that I was carrying last year were Gold-Dots, not Nosler.  This year, I've been carrying DoubleTap Noslers, because my gun seems to run better with them than any other.
