If you could only have one factory loaded round what weight would you want?  I like a 200gr lead flat nose to hunt with and could make do with that one weight.  I would like 1100-1300 fps loadings which would work on anything animal or man in Indiana.  Isn't it great we don't have just one or two loadings to pick from?

Warren, one of the very best things about the 10mm has been the wide variety of bullet weights and composition...

If I could only have one it would be a 200gr HST (with it's long skived jackets to facilitate the expansion) or the Hornady XTP loaded to 1200 - 1225 fps form the 4.5" or 5.0" barrels.

One of the reasons I handload my own rounds, is to take full advantage of the selection of projectiles and to bring them to the best possible ballistic performance from my guns. 8)

165 pdx1 doing 1400 would work with deer and people. That's what I would want.

I am with Shadow...200 grain.  I prefer a hard-cast WFN, but would "settle" for the HST.

LeMat

Yep.  I'd be perfectly happy with a 200gr WFN cruising around 1200fps.
This situation is exactly like 1994 and 2009.  Shooters responded emotionally to some threat that did not exist.  Some persons who wanted to appear "in the know" or "connected" used the internet forums to repeat these "sky is falling" rumors over and over until people believed i

Would prefer a 200gr. molly coated hardcast at 1100 to 1300 FPS.

Underwood 180 gr XTP @1300 fps would be my choice if I had to stick with just one factory load.

mag360

Hornady 180gr xtp factory load and just use a 6" barrel to bring velocity up.

If designing my own it would be a 200gr hst going about 1200 fps opening to .65 and penetrating 18".

If it was just one 10mm load. It would be my 180gn XTP's over 11gn of Blue Dot. If I could buy the bullets on a whim like I do the XTP's, Gold Dots would work great!

170 grain.

200 for the woods.  8)

Okay, of the two....I pick 170. I think this weight would be the best "all around" weight. We could load different types of bullets for different applications.

170 grain for sure. I do miss those Golden Saber 165's.

I don't handload, so I'd go with the 180 grain Buffalo Bore JHP that I carry in my G20SF.

If you shoot alot of 10mm - It's a worth while investment.
I figured I shoot about 300 to 600 rounds a month ( I love the Big Bang ) and the cost of Mfg amo was too exspence  - in most cases mine is more tailored to what I do - it was worth it to reload - I load for 3 different 10mm's and each uses a different round.
