Hello, I posted in the ammo section asking about ammo, and was informed that the gen 4 spring might not be able to handle the full power rounds from Underwood, are there any spring recommendations that will allow me to utilize this fine weapon to its fullest extent?
TIA

Well not quite what I said;
Quote10mmnoob, Welcome the the forum.  If it were me in your position I think Underwood Ammo would fit your needs.  The Glock 20 Gen 4  will handle the full power ammo, but if you are running the factory recoil setup, you may wish to order reduced performance ammo.  The owner, Kevin Underwood, might would help you if you wanted ammo loaded at a slightly reduced rate from his out the door products should you need.  He also was offering reduced loadings for the Delta Elites that lacked chamber support.  His quality and pricing has been pretty good even in these difficult times.

The higher impulse ammo can cause the slide some high velocities as well, which I'm sure you have read about here or there.

You have a new Glock20 4th gen, the underwood ammo is some of the highest performance ammo available for the money if you read through the "Pull-Down" section of the forum you can learn what's loaded inside.
Yes, the Glock20 4th will shoot the ammo, do you have to shoot the highest performance out of the box?  No.  Do you have to shoot 40S&W performance? NO!  But I will say that people have had bad experiences using ammo in there guns that were not up to the ammo's performance.  Each gun is different, Glock has made some improvements in the case support over the years which has helped, and recoil spring setups can be also play into the situation.

Therefore, based on my experience with this cartridge since 1989-1990, I offered the suggestion above as a way to get better acquainted with you new gun, to see how it functions but still have a higher performing ammo than what you see from the bigger ammo companies.

Now about recoil springs that are made for the 4th Gen G-20 here are two...

I must have misinterpreted the reply, sorry, I will get a hold of Underwood, or just order some of the delta elite, and try it, so that I work my way up to the full load, maybe as you stated, it is not what I really want in the end, I just don't want to shoot a watered down 10mm, if I wanted to do that I would have gone with the .40, in the end it may be a mute point as the closing of the smelter will make ammo scarcer than hen's teeth.

 I'll be able to report on the DPM system pretty soon. I have been gathering up stuff for my new G20 Gen 4; Lone wolf std barrel, and the DPM mechanical system. I really liked the DPM on the G29 I had, so I wanted one for this G20 also. It came with a simple washer to fit in the oversized Gen 4 RSA hole in the slide end. Comes with two springs, one light and one heavy ( I don't know the poundage of either. My goal is to try the pistol with both factory setup and the LW/DPM set up. In that G29 ( which is a captured RSA) I could shoot mild Blaser to wild Underwood with no issues at all. I myself have not read anything negative on the Gen 4 RSA for the G20, and am looking forward to range work. I am waiting for another carry gun to come home wfrom the Smith's in a week or so. If you can wait on ordering a DPM or Springco or something, I will be reporting soon. If not, good luck to you anyhow...Oh yea, the 10mm bites hard, don't it? lol

I've not had any issues with the stock RSA in my Gen4 G20 with Underwood 165gr BD, 180gr TMJ or 200gr XTP...
