Any one got data for loading 170 Cast bullets using Tightgroup powder, lookn for plinking loads for my full size 1911

Hodgdon shows data for 180 JHP data should work...Seeing how narrow the range is, I would start 5.6 grains for a nice target load.
5.4 @ 1051 27,400 psi
6.0 @ 1141 34,300 psi

Thanks, I run 4.5grns thru my 40 SW, with the same bullet, had found the Hodgdon load just was curious on how much ta back dwn from jhp to cast , Being New ta the 10mm,
Thanks again

I estimate the 5.6 grain charge to run around 1080 fps to 1100 fps depending on barrel length and all other factors.

The Longer casing of the 10mm adds some space for powder over the 40S&W, so an equal load that you would use in the 40S&W case would yield less peak pressure in the 10mm thus less velocities.  Therefore with some powders bumping up the charge is needed to give you similar velocities.

Most people opt for the faster powders with the cast bullets, easier ignition, not position sensitive (where primer flash may over ride the charge), that way pressure builds to the peak and high enough to bump the base of the bullet to fill the bore (of softer alloys).  The soft and harder alloys do well with bullets sized slightly larger than the bore by 0.001" or 0.002" for the best seal and that helps prevent leading.

Best regards and welcome to the forum!  :D
