G20SF Guide Rod/Spring

I'm looking to change out the plastic guide rod in my G20SF. I also want to go up to a 22lb spring. What seems to work better, stainless steel, steel, or tungsten? I'm keeping the stock Glock barrel for now, but planning on buying a Lone Wolf barrel in the future. Hoping to not have to buy an additional spring/rod when I do the barrel swap.

Not being familiar with Glocks I can't give you a definitive answer. However tungsten is much lighter than steel, much stronger, and if properly formulated possibly out last steel guide rods for 2 or 3 times more rounds. However a cheaply made tungsten guide rod could be brittle and break upon firing. Buy one from a known manufacturer. JMHO.

I have both Lonewolf Stainless captive rods, and Wolff steel non captive rods in multiple glocks of mine, and have been more than happy with both.  Not sure the price for the Tungsten ones are worth it.

I thought tungsten was the heavier one.  That's how they get away with saying that it will reduce felt recoil.

Ditto.  The key selling point to the tungsten is about an ounce of added weight.  Longevity is really irrelevant, as all of them, including the OEM plastic, will outlast the recommended RSA replacement cycle many times over (although very few actually replace them).  Perhaps if 400 vs. 300 years of use means something to you.....

I personally run a 24 lb spring in my G20 when I'm shooting 9x25 Dillon. I'm sure you could get by with a 22lb one though. I shoot .40 and .357 sig in my smaller guns so don't know how they'll cycle in a 10mm with the stiffer spring. Guessing they're probably fine.

Im wondering the same thing i plan on shooting some 40 short and weak for plinking was gonna order a 22 pound spring from glockmeister but not so sure it will cycle the round well??

If you do end up using a 22 lb spring in conjunction with 40 S&W, let us know how it works out.

Well as luck would have it fed ex brought a box of goodies to me today! Speaking of recoil spring! Just looked the barrel over and it looks good! Did a polish on the feed ramp and will be heading to tje range to see how 40sw cycles with the 22 pound spring,not to mention accuracy out of this LW 40 conversion barrel

Congrats on the new goodies!  Nothing like new goodies showing up.  My main questions for after your testing are;  How far does the brass eject from where you're standing while shooting, and, what o'clock position does the brass travel to during ejection from the direction your shots were aimed?

Range report!
Just got back from the range!! 22pound recoil spring worked beautifully!!! I could tell the gun cycled a little better. I shot 40sw with the 22pound spring with no problem at all! The lone wolf barrel was great no problems and accuracy was excellent! My stock glock barrel was great as well super accurate with the 200 grain FMJ CCI blazers that i shot! I had 2 bad primers with the CCI other than that its a winner!! I trust my glock 20sf with my life just like my glock 19! Guys at the range were looking over like holy crap what are u shooting!! Gotta love the 10mm!!

My brass ejected at 2 o clock and went about 5 feet back if that. It was exactly the same with the factory spring.
