Which after-market barrel for Glock 20 G4 10mm?

I am wondering if anyone has seen any scientific testing on the accuracy of; Storm Lake, KKM, Jarvis, BarSto, Wolf, etc.?  Or, is it a simple matter of they are so close you go with whichever you want and will never notice the difference at the range?

Don't know about the Gen4's so much...

Well, I have several barrels from some from Bar-Sto from when they made the barrels for the S&W 10xx series one in 40S&W the other 9x25Dillon, both are very good, I had to finish fit them to the slide and frame they were not drop-in units.  The 9x25 Dill was short chambered so I had to finish the chamber for the proper head spacing.

Now for the Glock guns, I have two Storm Lake for the G-29 10mm and 40S&W both are great with good case support but they are from 2007.  Two LWD conversion barrels 357Sig and 9x25Dillon for the G-29  these are great and have tight chambers.

Same for the G-20 LWD 9x25Dillon 6" also a great fit and accurate.

KKM has been really good according to latest reports.

Could I buy an aftermarket 357sig barrel for my Glock Gen 4 20 and just drop it in and use it?  Would I need 357sig mags?

The standard Glock mags work for 40S&W, 357Sig and also 9x25Dillon.  LWD advised the barrels that fit the Glock 20 also fit the Glock 20 4th generation as well, so you'd be good to go!  LWD is even sell some 9" barrels at this time for the G-20's.

I've been very happy with the first KKM conversion barrel I purchased - now I just need to get the other calibers for my G20... and then get a set for my G29 too

I love the 357 sig round too.  I may get get two barrels.  Does anyone know if there is any bench-testing of barrels, or similar?  I am not that good of a shot and it won't matter, but if I know one tests out a little better in a controlled test I wouldn't mind knowing that.

I also don't want to have to do anything to the barrel or gun such as fitting.

If you're not that good of a shot right now, stay with what you've got and spend your money on ammo/reloading and spend your time shooting at something that is fun. Paper can get boring at times so throw in cans, water jugs, pine cones, liberals, and piles of dog terds. The last two are pretty much the same. Practice and have fun at the same time or it becomes a "job" and then you'll dread it and start thinking about the cost instead of the fun. After awhile, all the fun will pay off in accuracy and skill.

I just had a Barsto extended/threaded barrel fit to my Gen-4 G20 and I love the way it feels.  I hope to pick up a stand pretty soon and may try my hand at an accuracy comparison vs. the stock Glock barrel.  I had a KKM drop-in in my old G31.  Liked that one too.

McQuade gave the best advice here.  If you marksmanship won't reveal a difference (and for most of us it wouldn't except in very controlled conditions, regardless of how good a shot we are), then spend you money on ammo.

Now if you have another reason for needing a barrel, eg wanting to shoot lead and concerned about the factory barrel with lead, then I would suggest you look for the best price in a known brand.

I only have 1 after market barrel for my glock 20 gen 3 and its a KKM and I am very happy with its results.  The factory stock barrel just blows with most all ammo shot through it.  I mean I would be lucky to get a 4" GROUP at 15 yards from a rested position.  Its that bad.  When I put in my KKM it cuts my groups in half if not more.   

One of these days I am going to get a bunch of different ammo for my 10mm and do a comparative between the stock barrel and the KKM.

But I will tell you as there is not much that the KKM so far doesn't like.

I wont hesitate to get another in the future.

I very much like my KKM.  Slightly more accurate than stock, but not enough to care.  I got it for the sole reason of eliminating bulged brass.  I reload and don't like bulges in my brass.

I got a Storm Lake barrel from Midway for reloading and lead purposes about 9 months ago. I shoot both stock and aftermarket accurately... they both are more accurate than me so I am satisfied. The barrel didn't have any obvious imperfections when I got it and shoots factory and my reloads without any issue. I do have a gen 3 g20 for the record.

OK.  MY logic is, if I am still all over the place with a known-excellent barrel, I know it is me.  But if I am all over the place (which I am not) with the stock barrel, I will never know.......

Here is the key..."Aim Small-Miss Small"  by that use a smaller aiming spot, size of a dime!

Thank you for that chart, it explains my low and low and to the right shots.  I will absolutely have to work on that...
