Who is making the 22 and 24 lb. flat wire recoil springs for the G20? Captive or loose flat wire?

I found mine at BrassStacker, seems they are recommended by several folks on the internet. IF ya have a gen 4 be sure to get that adapter for 10 bucks. I bought the stainless recoil rod, 22# flat wound spring and adapter and was 35 georgies for all, free shipping. This way I can use it in my gen3 or gen4 10mm

IMO, the stock 17 lb. spring is just too light in a G20 for anything other than the weak "target" ammo.  I have a 20 lb. spring in mine (NDZ captured stainless guide rod), and it functions fine with 175 grain Hornady Critical Duty, as I'm sure it will also, with the 180 grain Buffalo Bore JHP atomic that I'll soon be tossing through the gun.

I put a 20 lb. spring in my G20SF.  I use the 180 grain Buffalo Bore JHP load, and my pistol seems to like this spring weight.  The standard 17 lb. spring is too darn light for 10mm loads...Even the weaker loads.

Hello Dann, I have mentioned that I think the stock captured spring (17lb) is problematic as well.  I am currently studying my options for my 20SF but may opt for the Wolff non captive guide rod and the following spring weights 20, 22 & 24 lb to tune for specific loadings...I also think that non captive springs allow more pressure applied to maintain slide lock than the captive type.

i ended up putting a 22 pound spring on.  casings from weak rounds go about a foot or so out and full power kick on out pretty good.  i also put a 6 pound trigger spring and 6 pound firing pin spring.  i had no failure to fires.
