Turo, that is a beautiful piece!

Too bad I'm in NJ, land of the commie gun rules. I can't buy an M1 Carbine legally, let alone a cannon.

Cannons fall under diferent rules, you should check it out in your area. They are considered replicas in my area.

I'm pretty sure it's a no no. NJ does not recognize C&R or replicas. BB guns are considered firearms here and you need a permit to buy. Same goes for black powder kit guns and such that can be bought off the shelf in our neighboring states. On top of that, a big majority of our towns have no discharge ordinances so unless you go to a range, you can't even shoot on your own property!

Yowch!  Black powder muzzle loaders aren't even considered firearms here in CA, and I thought our gun laws sucked.  I feel for ya man.

Dang, brotha, that's terrible. I hate it for people in your situation.

When you have hits on target with your feet moving, you're a shooter... all else is target practice.

Jersey is rough. We have the NJ Second Amendment Society that's working hard to get rid of the feel good BS laws we have to protect the criminals. Hopefully soon things will get easier for us!

Good luck to you with those gun laws!

It took some doing, but I finally got the video uploaded to YouTube.  This was about the 3rd test fire, using progressively larger charges.  This was 1 ounce of fffg pyrodex and about 5-6 inches of packed paper wadding.  Watch your speakers, the video is a little loud:

Always love a big boom.
Gun Control?  Oh yes, the theory that becoming a victim is somehow morally superior to defending yourself & your family.  Makes perfect sense.

I have one, more of a mortar really, that shoots soda cans and 20 oz. pop bottles, spray paint cans, etc. The pop bottles can be shot a lot further (filled with water) because they are stronger than the cans, which tend to shred apart. Soda cans full of gasoline are fun though, with a heavy enough charge to shred them in the barrel so the gas ignites... You don't want to stand close to that.

We definitely need some video footage of that! :o

I want to see that too!

There was talk about making a mortar at one point between me and my dad, but I think that one will have to wait a bit.
