Not just 10mm's...

The 4th is coming up and cannons tend to be very handy. :D

Below is a .69 cal Traditions black powder cannon with my old G20. Nice conversation piece but also functional, just have to remember to give your neighbors a heads-up.

Whoa.  I think I need a CANNON.

In that .690 caliber, what are we talkin for ball weight and velocity? 
Gun Control?  Oh yes, the theory that becoming a victim is somehow morally superior to defending yourself & your family.  Makes perfect sense.

Don't know velocity but the balls are 400+grns. They do a bit of damage ;D

Nice cannon, the one I have "Canon" I take pictures with...although I have wanted to build a tennis ball cannon but never did yet! :'(

Does it operate off standard black powder?  If so, how much per launch?

Blackpowder or triple 7, bout 85grns (bit less with trip 7). That's with projectile, you can double that if you just want to make noise. Well, noise and some fire...

Are fuses any big deal?  How much does that thing move after firing?

Nah, fuses are no big. Just gotta order the right one, instruction spell that out. If you are firing a ball you either have to have it strapped down or have room for it to roll... which is probably 10' on smooth ground!

I'm wondering about trajectory.  Thoughts on it taking out a deer at 20 yards?

Talking ballistics, yea, shot placement... not so much. Then there is the fuse issue...

How long does it take a "standard" fuse to burn down?  Is it like an average firecracker fuse?

Similar to a firecracker "green" fuse, think they have ratings for burn time per inch. Been a while since I last checked. Actually, it's been a while since I fired the little beast!

I can see having a bit too much fun with that at the cabin in the far north woods.  What's a cannon like yours go for new?
