Anyone use Red Dot sights on their Glock?

Intrigued by this a lot but it is a ton of money.  Just wondered what experiences everyone has.  I am thinking about Vortex or Trijicon.  Looked at both in the gun store and the Vortex seemed to be the superior product but I have used other Trijicon products with satisfaction.

I have slide mounted RMR on my Long Slide LW/Glock. I love the combination and it really helps me wring the best from the my gun and me.

From what I have heard Trijicon is the top choice with red dots because they are more rugged. ..

I'm planning to have my Glock 29 milled for an RMR once I have the funds :)

The Trijicon RMR sights are pretty good, definitely better than anything Vortex makes.

The new Docter III sight is pretty good too; slightly smaller than the RMR, and much clearer glass. I think it's even a little cheaper too. The Docter is also narrower, and fits the width of the 9mm/40 slides. The RMR is the correct width for the 20/21 slides.

You can have your slide milled for either the RMR or the Docter III. I have the RMR on my G21, but would consider the Docter III next time.

Either way, you really need co-witnessed iron sights with a red dot, if it's a serious defense/CCW pistol. I would much rather have iron sights and no red dot, than a red dot with no iron sights (on a pistol).

Yondering, if you don't mind me asking what is the ball park price for that setup? Sights, red dot and mill work? I really like that.

To be honest, I don't remember for sure. I think the slide milling and sights were in the neighborhood of $180-200. I got the RMR for around $400, but they are quite a bit more now, although the Docter III is in that price range.

I had Mark Housel at L&M Precision do the slide milling (he provided and installed the sights too), and I highly recommend his work, it was top notch. Another option for the work is One Source Tactical; you can either send in your slide, or buy a slide already done.

A third good sight option is the Leupold Deltapoint, although some claim they are not quite as durable as the RMR or Docter III. I liked the Deltapoints that I handled though, and would consider one next time.
