Shooting sticks? Pistol Specific need some new ones...

What kind of shooting sticks do yall use with your 10mms specifically glock ls? Bi pod of tri pod. I had some of those red bogsticks the bi pod kind but left them at a ranch and cant wait for them to be returned so I might end up with two but can always give them to my little brother or have an extra set. I liked them but anyone know of any that are better shooting pistols?

I like the Primos sticks very intuitive and when hunting in the mountains tough enoug to use for down hill descents and support.


But I have had trouble with two of the ones I own one leg and three leg so I am going to make my own.

I made 2 sets using the green metal landscape stakes, 1 set is about 30" high for when I sit on the ground or in a mini chair and a longer 60" set for stalking .I put some rubber tire tube on top to cushion the gun. They work great using TC Encore pistols and the shorter set I shot this 1x5 whitetail using a friends Custom Ruger 5 shot, 10MM MAG. I was sitting in a blind and this little buck came out at about 25 yards.

In case you didn't notice my username I have had a complete knee replacement.  And I still have problems.

So now, I seldom venture out without a walking stick.
I've used ski poles but they are generally too short.  Commercial telescoping sticks are convenient but not very strong.

Many years ago I explored an abandoned military facility.  Every barracks room had a closet with a heavy-duty closet rod made of the finest hardwood.  One came home with me.

I wrapped the handle portion of the rod with parachute cord (for emergencies), drilled a small hole in the top end where I glued in a small compass, and eventually covered it with burned engravings.  Animal tracks are my favorites.

There is no telling how many times it has saved me from a spill or helped me up after one.  It also makes a great probe for testing the bottoms of creeks before stepping into them, holding back briars, or whacking unfriendly snakes.

I can't tell you how many times, over the years, I've used my stick for a rifle or pistol rest. All the meat I collected would feed Rosie O'Donnell for at least 3 weeks, if she was on her diet.  Haha.

That's is great ingenuity I have three nice lodge pole pines about 1.25" in diameter but dried and thinking of making a nice walking stick / shooting stick from one of those a piece of stainless that is serrated on the bottom for grip. I like the idea of parachute cord I will use that.
