G20 and MechTech

I have had mine (G20sf-MT) for about6 months. I bought it to compliment my G20 now I'm looking to get a dedicated lower for it so I don't have to take the scope off my 20 to use it.
I picked up a G29 for ccw. 10mm is addictive as hell. In 21/2 years G20sf- Dillon 650 (need more ammo ) MT for the 20-
29 for carry ----what next - man I'm glad Glock only makes 2 versions of the 10MM.

I'm with you there GD
But the Glock Lower works well with the MechTech and I do like having the 20 Round Mags
You'd have to have a lot of Magazine sticking out of the Grip of a 1911 to hold 20 Rounds

All five of mine are made from Factory 15 Round G20 Mags with an ARREDONDO Plus 5 Mag Base

I have owned several guns since the late 60's - the one I carried since NY and now in GA for 30 years was a model59 S&W with combat Pacs. My favorite cal was the 41mag, so saying I don't shoot revolvers worth a sh*t. I do shoot auto's just fine( to me their a natural point and shoot weapon ) so saying - 4 years ago I decided to upgrade my ccw. I don't like 1911 type guns, I even built one from scratch - hated it, great gun but hated it - packed it away 27 years ago - gave it to my son - he loves it.

Now saying that
#1 10mm comes the closest to 41 in an auto -
#2 Dependable
#3 Durable
#4 Simplistic
#5 Very few parts
#6 Combat style reliability
#7 Mag capacity
If you notice Looks did not enter in this list, nor price, nor name.

GLOCK - So ugly only a mother could love its looks . Yes I know.

It took me a few years of evaluating all the guns, and Glock kept coming out on top. So Glock was what I went with. And I test fired virtually all of them first before deciding.
Like they say - What ever blows your skirt!
And the MT fits my fun list.

Have had a few Rounds jam between the Bolt Face and the top of the Chamber, so I checked the Glock Block and found that it needed a little lovin'
I broke the hard edge and added a bit of a Throated edge to boot
Polished the whole thing and reinstalled it
Runs smooth with Dummy Rounds, now to give it a hard Range workout

All I shoot are my Hand / Re- Loads
The only Factory Ammo I own are for our Carry Guns, 22s and Shotshells

I though about buying a CCU for my DGC, but went for the HiCap option of the G20....15+5
You can't beat 20 Round Mags

I was originally thinking to match the MechTech with my Delta Gold Cup
But I went for the Glock mainly for the Mag capasity

It's not their looks that turn me off. It's the fact I have never ever put one single model Glock in my small short fingered hand and it felt good to me. And the grip angle just seems to be wrong to me. I did the old eyeball test. I naturally pointed one at a target, locked my arm, and then peered down the sights. I was holder several inches ABOVE the bull. I don't do that with a 1911. (Or a Hi Power, or a SIG, or a revolver)

Yeah, I hear you on the Small Hand deal
Hated the Glock 20 as a Pistol
But as a Receiver for the CCU, it works very well

Took the MG20 with the modded GlockBlock out for a HOT test run
5 Mags, 100 Rounds, zero issues
I even ran one of the 20 Round Mags as fast as I could run the Trigger
Still run glitch free
Now to Strip and clean the MG20 and give the GlockBlock a final high Polish
I think I may have it licked

Took the MG20 out again today to zero both the M16 (style) Sights and the Scope
A couple at the Range tried to out and they both liked it, BUT the young Lady suffered a few Fail to Feeds 
200 Rounds and she was the only one who saw the FTFs 
Neither the Guy or myself, had an issue, so we really watch her as she shot
I've come to the following concussion; My MG20 is "Limp Wrist" sensitive 
You know that weird phenomenon where if you don't give the Pistol enough resistance to its recoil, it has Failure to Eject / Feed issues ?
We noticed that when she did have a FTF, she was not holding the Butt tight to her Shoulder AND / OR, was anticipating the recoil by moving backwards as she pulled the Trigger
We'll have to watch for this in other Shooters and report back

What kind of ammo are you running through that MT? Full power hot stuff, "FBI"/40 S&W lite stuff, or somewhere in between?
