G20 and MechTech

Just pulled the trigger on buying this:

Seems like it was a pretty good deal
The CCU is worth about $450+/- and I would guess the G20 and two Mags would be worth $200.00 easy
I might be wrong

Looking for input on Sights
Either the Basic M16 set or the MagPul MBus Gen 2 Flip-ups ?
Thoughts ? ? ?

Anyone add the Recoil / Butt Pad to their Short M4 Stock ?

That looks like it would be fun to shoot. I wonder what kind of speeds the longer barrel yields.

I have the same setup but with the other M-4 stock.  I don't think its very comfortable to shoot with when your putting hundreds of rounds downrange.  I was looking for a buttpad, but might just buy a Magpul stock instead.  They have a pad and the cheek rest looks to be much more comfortable.

You can buy a Butt / Recoil Pad for your M4 that may solve your problem
Should be any of the ones that say "6 Position"

I also found that Amazon has most of the exact same Accessory Parts that MechTech sells at a must cheaper price

Mech tech does have a hefty markup on their accessories.  Thanks for the link although I still find using the stock as a cheek rest uncomfortable. How does the smaller stock compare?

That was my first plan, then the idea of the higher capacity of the G20 and the fact that it leaves my DGC unmolested was what put me on this path

Took the MG20 to the Range yesterday
Ran 100 Rounds through it, just to test it out
Didn't really take the time to dial-in the Sights or the Scope
Just there to have fun and have my Wife test-out the Recoil
She felt the Recoil was nothing to be concerned with
In fact, she had a lot of fun basting away at the Octa-Gong at 50yrds

We had a few Fail to Feeds, but all-in-all, it ran pretty good
Hope to zero both the M4 Sights and the Scope out to 100+yrds next week

Took the MG20 out again yesterday
Zeroed the M4 Sights and shot it at 50 and 100yrds
Can continuously hit the 12" Octa-Gong at 100
And can shoot groups like this at 50 (20 Rounds within a 4" Ring:


Tried to zero the Scope but topped-out the Vertical before I could even get it on paper at 50, let alone 100yrds
Not sure WHAT I'm going to do there

Three options.

Shim the base (cheapest, but not recommended).

Get a +20 MOA base (probably the most expensive).

Look for scope rings that will allow you to create some offset.  The burris signature rings are one option that supposedly allow you to zero your scope without touching the scope adjustments.  This is probably the best bet.

The simplest answer is always the best
I shimmed the back of the CCU's Rail up and now the Scope is at its centered Vertical and Bore Sighted-Zeroed at 50 Yards
Now I'll need the run it at the Range again and see where I'm really at
To make it permanent, I may machine the Rail to the right angle later on down the road

I have had mine (G20sf-MT) for about6 months. I bought it to compliment my G20 now I'm looking to get a dedicated lower for it so I don't have to take the scope off my 20 to use it.
I picked up a G29 for ccw. 10mm is addictive as hell. In 21/2 years G20sf- Dillon 650 (need more ammo ) MT for the 20-
29 for carry ----what next - man I'm glad Glock only makes 2 versions of the 10MM.
