I'm new to the forum, so forgive me if this has been addressed somewhere...  I've just picked up my first Glock 20, a Gen 4...actually my first Glock as well (found some cool Ted Nugent 10mm ammo to go with it btw).

Anyway, I am investigating a long slide option, but not sure if it's available for the Gen 4?  I've seen the barrels available from various manufacturers, but not the slides.  Any advice/direction is appreciated!  Looking forward to learning!

I am in the same investigative process - so far I have yet to find a vendor selling long slides that are compatible with Gen4s.

Glockworx has not responded to my inquiry though - I will follow up when I hear back from them.

What I learned was that the Gen 4's will accept the same barrels as the other generations.  However the slides of the gen 4's are cut for the recoil system which has the larger hole in the front under the barrel, so use of the LongSlide would require the older recoil rods and or spring setups.

According to the Lone Wolf reps there is also a sizable gap at the front between the LW slides and the Gen4 frames... not ideal.

Thanks for all the info!  I guess I'll go with a longer barrel for now and wait on the slide.  Any suggestions on barrels?  I've seen Lone Wolf, KKM, and Storm Lake websites, but I would like to know your experience with and recommendations.

I always go with KKM if they offer what I'm after. ..

Welcome to the forum!

I would suggest Storm Lake or KKM.  Storm Lake barrels have excellent chamber support which is great for shooting top end power level loads.  KKM is almost as good in terms of chamber support.  Either are plenty accurate.  The KKM barrels, via their rifling process, have practically a mirror finish bore if you like that.

I would stay away from Lone Wolf, as their new barrels don't have very good chamber support, kind of like the stock Glock barrels but not as opened up throughout the whole chamber area.  So unless you only intend to shoot weaker 10mm ammo I would stay away from them.

For other good information on accessory barrels check out these threads;

Gun Control?  Oh yes, the theory that becoming a victim is somehow morally superior to defending yourself & your family.  Makes perfect sense.
