If you are thinking of a conversion and need a gunsmith to ream a barrel for you, I would suggest you contact Steve at marsguns.com.  He reamed my Para conversion and did a great job.  He also is my go to guy with questions about 1911 set-up in general, and has great input on 10mm auto 1911's.

He suggests a Cominolli Frame Saver guide rod which uses two shok buffers, buffering both the slide tunnel and the frame.  This allows you to run a more standard recoil spring rate.  He suggests this in concert with the ubiquitous EGW flat bottom firing pin stop.

p.s.  Full disclosure, when he does your gun he uses my reamer and pays me a small rental credit on my account there

I'll try to find it, but a guy on GT took an AMT hardballer in .40, and had it reamed out for 10mm. Did a few other things to it also. Not many pocket 10's out there.

I am watching an auction on Gunbroker right now on a IAI Skipper, a 40 S&W compact 1911.  It kinda looks like a CCO sized gun, officers frame with a commander slide.

If I can pick it up for the right price it will get reamed and see how it likes 10mm.
