Picked up my new Witness today

It's great. By far my favorite out of all of the Witnesses I have owned. I like the finish. Much better than the wonderfinish. The return of the squared slide is a big relief, along with the bulkier frame with the flashlight rail. It just feels like a heavier gun. I do prefer the feel of the older grips, but these new grips are more of a tactical type and have a built in thumb rest near the mag release for the shooting hand that just feels very natural so I might end up loving it. Overall, I am thoroughly impressed with the 2013 model Witness. Can't wait to shoot it.

Couple things to note:

The new grip is much thinner than the old grip. If you have smaller hands and the size of the Witness grip turned you away, they have made them more streamlined. The old grip was 1.40 inches wide. The new grip measures 1.35 inches near the bottom, and gradually gets thinner as it moves up towards the mag release to 1.24 inches. It is much less bulky and I feel like I can get a better grip on it.

Also, this gun was built around the K10 mag. It fits so smooth and you can feel it lock in place. It doesn't move around at all with no play, even when the mag is empty. Very perfect fit. With my older Witness, the K10 mag felt sloppy and loose, and it only fit right if I put the old Tanfoglio thick base pads on them.

Yes. The screw is in the same location. Hogue finger groove grip fits as well.

Is a Witness similar to a Glock in that they generally don't need a break in period?
