Hopefully the reading Gods are with me today since it's one and done. I will be using the EAA Witness Match 4.75" for all the shots and will also be running a check on it with brass pre/post measurements using Underwood 1300 for expansion.

Ammo:

- Double Tap 165gr Remington Golden Saber HP 9.6gr's Long Shot rated 1425 FPS
- Double Tap 180gr Nosler HP 9.0gr's Long Shot rated at 1305 FPS
- Hornady 200gr XTP HP 9.4gr's 800-X rated 1250 FPS in JAG brass
- Speer 200gr SWC TCBB 10.0gr's Blue Dot rated 1180 FPS in JAG brass
- Hornady 200gr XTP HP 8.4gr's Power Pistol rated 1250 FPS in JAG brass
- Hornady 200gr XTP HP 13.0gr's AA#9 rated at ~1300 FPS in Winchester brass
- Hornady 200gr XTP HP 12.6gr's AA#9 rated at 1250 FPS in JAG brass
- Hornady 200gr XTP HP 10.5gr's Blue Dot rated at 1250 FPS in JAG brass

I lost the very first piece of brass and at the very end found it! So I have all the brass and everything gave a reading. Not exactly sure how the data should look, so will need to compare with the pull-downs to see. With my glasses, plugs and Glock approved gloves (since we didn't know much about the JAG brass) on I started sending them:

- Double Tap 165gr Remington Golden Saber HP 9.6gr's Long Shot rated 1425 FPS. 1303 FPS/ 622 LBS. Felt weak too but no addditional rounds to test.
- Double Tap 180gr Nosler HP 9.0gr's Long Shot rated at 1305 FPS. 1077 FPS/ 464 LBS. Felt weak too but no additional rounds to test.
- Hornady 200gr XTP HP 9.4gr's 800-X rated 1250 FPS in JAG brass. 1216 FPS/ 657 LBS. Pretty decent and strong
- Speer 200gr SWC TCBB 10.0gr's Blue Dot rated 1180 FPS in JAG brass. 1096, 1080, 1119. Average = 1098.33 FPS/ 536 LBS. Decent paper punching 200gr load.
- Hornady 200gr XTP HP 8.4gr's Power Pistol rated 1250 FPS in JAG brass. 1195 FPS/ 634 LBS. Pretty good power.
- Hornady 200gr XTP HP 13.0gr's AA#9 rated at ~1300 FPS in Winchester brass. 1129, 1165. Average = 1147 FPS/ 584 LBS.
- Hornady 200gr XTP HP 12.6gr's AA#9 rated at 1250 FPS in JAG brass. 1130 FPS/ 567 LBS.
- Hornady 200gr XTP HP 10.5gr's Blue Dot rated at 1250 FPS in JAG brass 1138 FPS/ 575 LBS.
- Hornady 200gr XTP HP 9.4gr's Long Shot rated at 1250 FPS in JAG brass 1256 FPS/ 701 LBS. Seems pretty strong and followed up with some PBR V-Supreme 200gr FMJ:

Match 4.75" 1250, 1242, 1241, 1233, 1245. Average = 1242.2 FPS/ 685 LBS. These are strong and good shooting!
Hunter 6" 1284, 1307, 1289, 1331, 1324. Average = 1307 FPS/ 759 LBS. The Hunter loves these!

All the JAG brass looked great. Actually all the brass looked great!

Thanks!

Where did the rated at numbers come from?

Are these loads The_Shadow sent you for testing?

Thanks for posting the numbers, and your remarks...
I don't think we did the pull down of the PBR V-Supreme 200gr FMJ ? ???  The PBR 200FMJ we did early on showed 14.0gr of AA#9 ?  However that powder was different looking than my AA#9 batch.

- Hornady 200gr XTP HP 9.4gr's 800-X rated 1250 FPS in JAG brass. 1216 FPS/ 657 LBS. Pretty decent and strong...
QuoteThat was loaded to mimic Kevin's 200XTP.

- Hornady 200gr XTP HP 13.0gr's AA#9 rated at ~1300 FPS in Winchester brass. 1129, 1165. Average = 1147 FPS/ 584 LBS.
- Hornady 200gr XTP HP 12.6gr's AA#9 rated at 1250 FPS in JAG brass. 1130 FPS/ 567 LBS.
Seeing how people rave about the AA#9, I just don't see the performance as being all that.  It works but that is a lot of powder to obtain even those numbers.

- Hornady 200gr XTP HP 9.4gr's Long Shot rated at 1250 FPS in JAG brass 1256 FPS/ 701 LBS. Seems pretty strong,
Quotethis was loaded to mimic the SwampFox load

- Hornady 200gr XTP HP 10.5gr's Blue Dot rated at 1250 FPS in JAG brass 1138 FPS/ 575 LBS.
QuoteMy favorite accuracy load
- Hornady 200gr XTP HP 8.4gr's Power Pistol rated 1250 FPS in JAG brass. 1195 FPS/ 634 LBS. Pretty good power.
QuoteAnother load I like and am still paying with
- Speer 200gr SWC TCBB 10.0gr's Blue Dot rated 1180 FPS in JAG brass. 1096, 1080, 1119. Average = 1098.33 FPS/ 536 LBS. Decent paper punching 200gr load.
QuoteAnother heavy target load I play with

These were reconditioned JAG brass and a second firing as test to their strength and durability.

The Double Tap rounds were from the stuff that came with my G-20SF... ???

Which of your platforms gives you the 1250 FPS rating you gave those 2 loads?

I'm surprised IC didn't get a better velocity with that.  9.4 grains of 800-X was the highest I saw too in Kevin's 200XTP load, but in the past we've seen IC's match push those a bit faster.

That's awesome!  Wouldn't have expected anything less.  From all I've heard, Mr. Swampfox was a real standup guy and a straight shooter so to speak.  May he rest in peace!

The SwampFox and Underwood loads were reduced 0.2gr's from what is in the sheet if that's correct.

I know the cards all said 1250 but does the data look right? I have no idea what's up with the Double Tap stuff. I just record what it gives but... :o :o :o Could it be wrong?

REDLINE

I don't think it was wrong.  I chalk it up to well known DT-nonsense. :))

PBR if AA#9 is some hard shooting stuff! Probably the best in that weight right now.

I will be looking for your results when you Chrony those Double Tap rounds.

The_Shadow

The 10.5 Blue Dot showed 1180-1210 fps and the 8.4 Power Pistol have show me 1190-1225 fps from my S&W 1006.

The loads I tested from Kevin 9.4 800X and Mike Willard 9.4 LongShot, did make the 1240-1250 fps targets from the S&W1006 and real close from the short G-29.

I know that the Power Pistol can be pushed further, so we will have to see.

Like I said this was was more of a test of the JAG Brass as a reloading component and also to give back to Intercooler, for his donations to the pull-downs!
