I got an order of Starline 38-40 brass that I have had on order for a couple of months.I compared it to some old factory brass and it is much stronger, heavier and thicker than the  factory brass from a few years back.It is exceptionally heavy down on the rim and is thick up to the part that gets necked down. And it is not thin on the bullet end by any means.

Awesome for both of you!

Glad to hear the 38-40 cases are beefed up from those of old. 8)
Gun Control?  Oh yes, the theory that becoming a victim is somehow morally superior to defending yourself & your family.  Makes perfect sense.

Redline I was worried about that also but now after seeing and handling them Ihave no worries. Now if I can just find some 41 Mag brass I will be almost in the game. I gave in to an old habit 41 Mag so I will have to dig up a box or 2 to get supercharged for a Ruger.I am seeing a lot more components this last week. Hope it is a sign of things to come. Only problem is the prices have not come down. I do not look for them to come down due to commodity cost.Copper,Lead,Nickel etc.All up so our stuff goes up with them.

Holyu geeze. I'm like one of the few reloaders that actually LIKES nickel plated brass. They stay so much shinier longer in this Southern Alabama high heat and humidity. I went to Staline to see how much they wanted for nickel plate. And I quote...

QuoteNickel Plated Brass Cases
Starline does not inventory nickel plated brass. Nickel plated brass is sold in Dealer quantities only. If three or more drums are purchased, then dealer prices apply. Contact Starline for special Dealer Pricing.  See chart below for quantities required and upcharge information for single drum orders:

A drum is said to hold a MINIMUM of 8000 cases. Way more than I need. Says to get smaller quantities, get Starline cases at Midway or Graf And Sons.

Price was pretty good at only $169.50.....hmmmmm, gotta think about this. Could sell some online.
Some people think I'm paranoid because I have so many guns. With all my guns, what do I have to be paranoid about?

Oh cripes, that was price per 1000... forget it!

I love that nickel coated brass as it is much smoother for loading nad ejection. In my SA does not stick at all when some of the regular brass will stick a little on a hot load but a gentleman on here told me how to solve that and it worked very well on the 10mm side. The other cylinder I have not tested yet as the ammo has not got here yet.

I agree on the above. I'll also add this, that to my old eyes I can spot a split case neck or a case that is about to suffer a catastrophic separation much easier when dealing with nickel plated cases. Now that is just my experience, other milages may vary.
Take care and stay safe all,
