It's odd this one is slower with more of the same powder as the ones above it  ???

The_Shadow

Hodgdon shows the 180gr XTP H-110/296 29.0gr. @ 1714 fps 21,800 C.U.P., so this is below there lower end load... ???

(This is less powder than previously pulled 180gr @ 1600 fps with 28.4gr)(I'll test it at this loading but expect it will not make the 1600 fps as seen in the first test)(Reviewing more info looking for powder/performance in question)

The powder is different than the 1600 FPS version. Every shot was over over 1700 FPS out of my Redhawk. Could it be Lil'Gun?

The_Shadow

In this cartridge the powder is H-110/296, but it is probably a short load... ???  When I get to shoot it we will see more.

Hodgdon shows the following data for the 44Mag Hornady 180XTP from 8.275" barrel
H-110/296 29.0 grains @ 1714 fps 21,800 CUP
H-110/296 31.5 grains @ 1896 fps 29,900 CUP

So do you think the first one rated 1600 FPS was something not H-110/296?

I was thinking he was going to load to 30.0 grains possibly...
One powder I have no picture or have seen is Accurate 4100, I think it is newer.  Question is does it look like 296/H-110
The newest Western Powders book shows a 24.3 grain load value @ 1683 fps...  I need to find this powder and further investigate...
