I have 3 new EAA Witness 14 round mags.  None of them will take 14 rounds.  I absolutely cannot force more than 12 rounds in.  There is no blocker in the magazine.  I cut 3 loops off of one of the mags and can get 13 in and may cut one more to make it work.  Is there any fix or should I cut the other springs?

For your information, if you cut a magazine spring and it flies off and you lose it, you WILL find it with your bare foot.  An inch of spring steel slipping into your foot with the ease of a syringe is a hell of a wake up call.

First I ever heard of them not holding 14. Are they K10's? Do you have a picture you can post? Where did you purchase them? I wouldn't cut the springs and would probably return them if they don't hold what they should. You have the spring in correctly?

I know this worked for my 15 Round Mags
Not sure if will help, but it may be worth a look

Yes, I would love to get pictures of this and any words, numbers etc. that are printed on it.

FYI, cutting your mag springs will reduce it's strength which will cause feeding problems.

I have cut lots of springs in my past and as long as you don't overdo it, it works out.  The problem is knowing the difference between just enough and too much.

I will take pics when I get home, but I thought they were listed as 14 round mags, I guess they are supposed to be 15 rounders...  BONUS!  They have a little hole with 14 stamped beside it.  They are all marked Tanfoglio-Made in Italy.  One came with the gun, the other two were ordered by my LGS when I ordered the gun.

Even if they are 15 round mags the most I could ever fit in one was 12 rounds.

They hold by description 14 rounds. Just put what you can in till they lossen up.

I have the older 15 round mags.  I had to use a 2X4 to get the last 2 rounds in when they were new.

Sooooo, keep jamming them in till you get 15 and let the spring compress?  When they are that full they swell a little and don't drop out till the mag gets down to about 12 rounds.

They also have K10 on the side.

Thanks for the help.

Just put in what capacity takes, over time it shall allow more. When I used on the Match, I went thru break in period. Those were the K10's,14 rounders. Patience game. If you cannot put in 14,put whatever fits till it works. It shall work itself out. Mean time, shoot. They are not 15 rnd mags

Mine didn't swell and dropped free even when new.

I had same problem and didn't cut springs, tried new Wolf spring and no change, also had a bad blemish on slide and EAA would not warranty the slide and replaced the two magazines and they were same way. When I called back about the replacement the guy hung up and then over next two weeks or so my calls would not answered so I traded gun off and never bought another. I really liked the gun and it was accurate as hell, but importer EAA is another story. Never had that kind of problem again till I bought a Taurus PT1911 in 38 Super that had oversized chamber and was swelling brass bad including smiley's like Glock had/has problems with and when called service dept. said it was normal. Normal on Remington factory target ammo??? Normal on light loaded lead RN for plinking??? I traded gun off next day for Kimber Custom TLE/RL 10mm with ramped barrel and will never have another Taurus if that's how they run service.
22LR for plinking, 357 for paper, 10mm for when 45ACP's not enough.
