So I'm looking to buy a Witness Hunter again. Sold mine a few years ago because it didn't really suit my needs as a bear defense gun. Didn't like idea of having to pull the hammer back just to fire it in an emergency. But I got to thinking...couldn't I just modify it and make it double action using some parts from one of my wonderfinish guns? Anyone ever done this?

Haven't done it, but easily done.

You need a DA trigger, and a hammer with the little DA tail on it, not sure the technical term.

Or carry condition 1.  If that makes you nervous carry condition 3, but with the hammer back and safety on,  for three months.

You make it sound easy. I might give it a shot.

Yup just a parts swap. You can order them through EAA or Henning may carry all the pieces.

Did you ever try it?

Intercooler

Never tried it but the thought entered my mind several times.

maybe we should swap parts.  I have thought often about converting my full-size to SAO.  When I carry it I carry cocked and locked anyway.

I have seen a couple nice used ones lately and a real reasonable NIB. You still looking?

Is that inch really worth the hassle ?
Why not go with the Stock 2 ?
True it's an inch shorter than the Hunter, but you get your SA/DA Trigger
So tell me again how Trump was worse then the 8 years before .... AND what came after HIM !

Intercooler

If the hunting law requires a 6" barrel 1" is a must. The Stock 2 is a 4.5" barrel though and I think the Cone-lock barrel is straight cut instead of Polygonal.
