Finished up the box of Underwood that was sent to me by a member to verify function. No malfunctions using the red follower magazines. These were marked 1.244-1.247 Underwood 180gr TMJ (Match 4.75") 1302, 1293, 1306, 1304, 1304, 1303, 1310. Average = 1303.14 FPS/ 679 LBS

Very good numbers for consistency but lower than the old TMJ averaging 1330-1350 FPS. I would guess when The Shadow gets these we will find less powder than old. Guess it is time to change the sheet to reflect the new numbers given the change and my findings in the recent boxes tested. As they become available I will need to test all the other weights to establish where they are at now.

I guess PBR 180's will need a test with them since now PBR 180's are stronger than Underwood. Next test session I will do both at the same time. Today I found some Buffalo Bore 180gr JHP's that I will throw in the same day with those two and they are rated 1350 FPS (haven't personally tested them in my pistols yet).

Those are good numbers. Thanks for testing newer batch.

Intercooler

I have plenty now after the swap. Do you want some?

Maybe you could add a test date or lot number to differentiate the different lots or test results...we'll have to see if there was a slight change in charge weight or actual powder being used.  8)

Intercooler, thanks for testing. Those were really consistent. Maybe that is why they are so accurate in my gun even though they don't function well.

Intercooler

Yes very accurate. I should have taken a picture of that!

I'm interested in seeing how all the different ones I sent you function. You have mild to wild there  :D

So is Underwood lowering the power on all the loads? If so I guess if PBR ever has anything in stock they go to the top of the hill if priced the same. Why would you slow down a good product unless you have found that you are over the limit and the best way to back off is just do it as most people would never have a clue. Except for guys like the ones on here that know what is even in the ammo most shooters just load em and shoot em

Will this ratings be for JHP as well. I remember Trout testing this round at it's  orig level in GDHP 180 and it appeared to be like a meteor looking bullet do to higher velocity. Petals were way back.So in a Glock 20 we would see 1275 1280? I did send Kev an e-mail to consider a 170 at 1300.

Intercooler

I don't know about all.

I doubt it being the ammo level but more a few firearms that can't handle them.

Intercooler

Probably need to send your 170 HP suggestion too. Don't know of a 170gr out there.

pacapcop

I sent Kev an email suggesting a 170 jhp in his line up.Anyone intrested in seeing that feel free to send an email.
