I was able to get a new Glock 20 Gen 5 awhile back however finding extra Magazines has been difficult because there so new.  I've got a local place i can get G20 Gen 4 Magazines about $8 cheaper each than i can order and pay shipping for to get Gen 5 magazines.  From what i understand the Gen 4 magazines work in Gen 5 fine and only difference between them is the Gen 5 Has an orange follower and the base plate on the Gen 4 is just bit shorter because the G20 gen 4's don't have the slight magwell flair in the grip . So if anything from what I've seen and heard besides the color of the follower the Gen 4 magazines work just as well in the Gen 5. Anyone have experience with the Gen 4 mags in Gen 5 or know anything different ? Was thinking of picking up half a dozen or so of the Gen 4 mags.

I was under the impression they were interchangeable, but could be mistaken

Thanks for your input Kenk.
Most I?ve read and those I?ve spoken with say they gen 4 Glock 20 mags do work and fit gen 5.
I did read a few ?internet? posts that said they didn?t but I just awhile ago ran 2 different gen 4 mags ( mag dump) though my gen 5. One was filled with 200 gr Montana WFN bullets the other was 8 200 gr XTP and 7 180 gr XTP in that mag. They performed perfectly and fit same as the gen 5 magazines I have. So I picked up 8 gen 4 G20 mags on way home. The only difference I see is the gen 4 magazine floor plate is slightly shorter on the trigger side of the mag well but not enough to fit funny or anything. The gen 4 magazines fit flush with the inside edge of the mag well and the gen 5 mags fit just slightly longer. Both fit and function perfectly.

Good deal, glad it worked out for you
