Carpal tunnel

Over the last year and a half I've developed carpal tunnel syndrome in my dominant hand/wrist. Now shooting heavier recovery long pistols is less enjoyable. Hand fatigue and loss of feeling set in after a shooting session. Just looking to vent. Hope not many of you have to deal with this.

I have lucked out on carpal tunnel.  Working in software development I consider myself lucky considering all the hours I log on a keyboard.

I will say this.  Getting old sucks.

I'm not yet 40... And the new career I started over a year ago seems to have brought this about - aging isn't for the faint of heart.

At 63, substantial body pain is just part of not being 20 anymore. I try and just suck it up, but still complain plenty to my wife. I will say, having both knees replaced helped a ton 😊

You young kids kill me, try 73 on for size, now that is real discomfort. Well I shoot every day so that is something. Come to think of it I reload everyday also!!!!  Craig

At 52 I went through 9.5hrs of heart surgery. Ruptured aortic aneurism repair, aortic valve replacement, triple bypass, needed quadruple bypass but ran out of time. Still have one completely blocked coronary artery and 3-4" of dacron tubing where my aorta used to be.

I have outlived the average for bypass patients and plan on continuing to do so, even though I feel it in some way everyday. Getting old may suck, but the alternative is worse. Find some pleasure in what you do every day and carry on. As long as I'm on the right side of the dirt, that's my plan. Stay positive B320, you have long way to go.

    Having a high mileage body from engaging in rock climbing and other stressful outdoor activities for most of our life we know all about dealing with the pain of getting older.
And, having shot practical pistol since the '70s, our wrists and elbows have paid the price of sending at least 1/4 million major .45ACP rounds down range. Now at 76 we continue to shoot and remain pretty active but have learned that Advil is our friend.

Getting older, I have thought of this very thing, the days when I can no longer quick shoot the10s and 44s...luckily,  I have planned and even though in not a 9mm fan, they have some really nice ones out. I bought the new FN High Power,  now that is a nice gun, no recoil and accurate as hell. 9mm 1911s, some real nice ones out now. I like the 9mm Wilson Combat EDC(if incould afford one,lol)..most important thing I think, is to keep your hands filled with a good piece of iron(or a Gluck if your mind swings that way) ..long as you can

5 years ago when I was 62 I started noticing my hands being extremely stiff and painfull to close and open my fingers when I woke up in the mornings. I was afraid that this was arthritis. I started working out with grip strengthening exercise tools from Captains of Crush (just the Trainer model) and after a few days the stiffness and pain went away. Now, every few months and it comes back, but, just for a few hours in the morning and it's gone for several more months. I'm not sure what it is, but, it feels like what people describe as arthritis symptoms.

Adding to my previous post about my left eye since I started with issues I have had 13 injections in my eye to help with the area around the optic nerve.  I will at some point have to have a cataract surgery on that one.
