I bought mine used and was looking for another owner with a new/newer one. Today while shooting some Underwood the rear sight elevation screw backed out again. This is after trying Loctite and finally Anti-Sabotage compound on it. I took it apart and think the lower channel where the screws teeth bite in are wore away. Looking for a picture of that! Honestly I would rather swap the whole rear sight out for a Dawson (if possible) or possibly send the slide into EAA. It was used so I don't know if they would swap it out for me.

This happened to me on my wonderfinish compact. I used JB Weld on it. It never fell out again.

So yours is adjustable? I guess Monday call EAA and see what they say. If that doesn't go well see if Dawson has a fit or can make one. Next possibility is do like you said and get it perfectly sighted and apply JB Weld.

Today will be fun. I'm going to call EAA just to see what they say and follow up with a Dawson call (see I am predicting the outcome) and see if they can make me one.

Intercooler

EAA didn't call back after leaving a message with their Lady or on the voicemail. It appears Dawson makes an LPA cut when I spoke to them on the phone today. At this point I'm leaning towards bucking up to a better company.

They didn't call again today so I did. Second owner so no coverage and 100 for a new one.

Here is my Hunter elevation screw with the knurling on the underside. That's all that I guess holds the position  :o

Intercooler

Here is the pocket where the screw fits down into. Can anyone verify a pattern in their Witness that "should" be down there to lock the screw?

My guess is mine has wore away from adjustment and/or movement from recoil. I doubt their being a fix out there using these pieces. You can see I put Anti-Sabotage on the sight in an attempt to keep it locked.

Intercooler

Well the two screws holding it to slide were loose too when I tried them. I ended up backing them out and removing the entire site like cake.

I'm thinking maybe a Henning fixed now if he can get the elevation right:

Dawson responded with that offering. Any thoughts?

It looks like it will fit the notch in the Hunter slide, but what about the screw hole? Is it ruined? Are you gonna have to JB Weld that sucker in there?

Intercooler

I'm just leary of putting the fixed on there and it shooting low with no way to adjust.

Ordered the Dawson today. They deserve a repeat order!
