I never jumped on the Smith & Wesson M&P 10mm when they came out, but my LGS had a NIB 4 inch deeply discounted + the $100 rebate. I took it to the range today along with my G20. Wow, I'm impressed. The firearm functioned 100% with various ammo and my groups were tighter than my G20 that I've been shooting for 20 years. The grip (medium) feels so natural while the grip texture is very aggressive.

I also have the 4" and very much enjoy it, while I am a 1911 fanboy this is a good pistol. Especially if one plans to pack on mountian trails and such..

This M&P took the place of my Glock 20 and it hasn't disappointed! Nothing against Glock, they just don't fit my hand.

My 4" M&P 10 has run perfectly, as well. I've rented G20s as well as shooting other people's, and just didn't like the grip. Now mine has an Apex trigger kit in it and some Dawson Precision standard height night sights.

I also sold my XDM 10 4.5 that I put a PRP trigger kit in after buying the M&P. The ergonomics are that much better for me.

If the texture seems too aggressive against clothing, or skin, the Gen 1 palm swells fit perfectly and are less aggressive. It's an easy swap for about $5.

I'm glad you guys are enjoying yours as much as I am.

Now they need to make their new folding PCC in 10mm and they can gladly have my money.

I have owned most 10 mm's out there. This S&W M&P is my favorite so far for hunting. For range work the Ruger 1911 comes in second.

Where did you get the Gen 1 palm swell if I might ask?

Thanks

I'd recommend you grab a 22 & 24 lb recoil spring unless you only plan on shooting weak sauce factory loads.

What issues were you having with the stock spring? I've run Underwood level reloads through mine without any problems.

Once I got into real 10mm pressure loads, my ejection pattern changed drastically. 22lb spring works much better.

I see. Not a jamming problem. Thanks for the response.

This makes me happy as I just picked up the 4in version monday...gonna try and test her out tomorrow if I have time. Will run a little bit of everything to check reliability and a quick accuracy but.....I'm not sure about the high rmr sights, I'm not gonna run an optic so I may swap out with some Dawson Precision tritium. But gonna shoot it first, might love the high sights...ya never know. Already got a nice Stoner iwb for carry if she runs..

Just a heads up. My standard height Dawson tritium sights are shooting about 6"-7" low at 25' on my 4" M&P10. I'm communicating with Dawson right now to take advantage of their perfect impact guarantee.
